Campus Ministry Update
On Monday, members of Campus Ministry sponsored a social for members of CES's Rise Transition Program.  Students in both groups got to know each and other, played board games, and had snacks.  We will be working with them on service projects several times throughout the year.  Participating ND students included: Destiny George, Maria Delgado, Billie Foster, Sofi Geismar, Karina Morales, Evelyn Alvarez, Lauren Jones, Aliyah Pratt, Katie Edwards, and Nicole Negron

On Tuesday night, Nick Pond, Raven Carafano, Jessica Harper, Caitlin Shea-Vantine, Tori Wainwright, Medjine Jean-Jacques, and Jasmine Alicea went with Fr. Cip and Miss Medoff to hear a presentation on the Invisible Children of Uganda at Sacred Heart University.  The lecture was given by a Ugandan student.  She spoke about the Ugandan Civil war, her experience with it and how it is effecting the children there.

On Wednesday, sixteen members of Campus Ministry played big brother/big sister to the children from the Daughters of Charity Preschool in Bridgeport at the Beardsley Zoo.  ND participants included Bianca Carrasquillo, Caitiln Shea-Vantine, Bonnie Broome, Ashley Fulton, Steph Flynn, Christina Rodrigues, Sal Sereno, Michelle Zentarski, Juliette Rivera, Danielle DeMonte, Medjine Jean-Jacques, Carly Chacon, Amanda Marini, Annie Sutilla, Kayla Frosceno, and Caroline Viteretto.

On Sunday, Campus Ministry sponsored a fun day of faith and fellowship.  A few members gathered for morning mass and then went up to West Springfield, MA to spend the day at the Big E.
News from the Chaplain
On Saturday, the ND Girl's Varsity Volleyball Team and Fr. Peter Cipriani participated in a Breakfast and Clothes distribution to the homeless along the FDR drive in Manhattan.

On Monday, Fr. Peter Cipriani held a prayer and communion service with Cross Country team followed by dinner at Vazzy's Bridgeport.

Last Friday,  7:15 am mass was attended by 15 students who enjoyed a light breakfast following. Mass is offered daily at 7:15 am for students, parents and staff.
A Special Welcome
Each week, two students from St. Catherine's Academy in Fairfield, the Diocesan school for students with special needs, spend several hours at Notre Dame. These students audit several classes and have lunch with ND students. We welcome these students into our building and to the ND family.
Open House and Entrance Exam
Notre Dame Fairfield's Open House will be held on Thursday, October 7 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Please extend the invitation to family and friends who have a prospective student to experience ND. Our Open House is an excellent opportunity to see what ND can offer academically, spiritually, and athletically. Eighth grade applicants interested in applying for admission must take our entrance exam, which will be given on Saturday, October 9 at 8:30 a.m. (A make-up exam will be offered in November.) Please contact the Admissions Office with any questions.
Parish Ambassadors
Thank you to the families who volunteered to serve as parish ambassadors and help spread the good news about ND within area churches. Please know that we are looking to expand our list of ambassadors including into non-Catholic churches. If you are interested in helping, please contact Denise Ayala at ayala@notredame.org
Ed-Line Update
Parent activation codes have been mailed home for all families to access weekly Ed-Line academic updates. Teachers will be posting their first progress reports this weekend. The next update, due to the early October academic schedule, will be by October 17.
