Campus Ministry Update
Members of Campus Ministry volunteered recently at the Fairfield Junior Women's Club Touch-A-Truck event at Ludlowe High School. News from the Chaplain
Chaplain Fr. Peter Cipriani held a prayer and communion service with the football prior to their opening game last week. He also conducted a prayer service and dinner for the girls' soccer team and a prayer/communion service and dinner with senior members of the cheerleading squad.
Last Friday, 7:15 am mass was attended by 15 students who enjoyed a light breakfast following. Mass is offered daily at 7:15 am for students, parents and staff.
Fr. Cipriani also recently sponsored a trip to the Westchester Dinner Theatre to view The Dark Knight. |

Dr. Rob DeSimone
This summer Dr. Rob DeSimone, ND Chemistry teacher, was elected chairman of the Connecticut Section of the New England Association of Chemistry Teachers (NEACT). The group, founded in 1898 comprising high school and college chemistry teachers throughout New England, is focused on excellence of teaching chemistry. Dr. DeSimone's responsibilities include: choosing topics and lectures for chemistry-focused meetings in Connecticut, participating in organizing week-long summer conferences on chemistry teaching skills, and conducting business meetings for Connecticut members. |

ND Open House
In a few weeks, Notre Dame will be hosting our annual eighth grade open house. Please help us spread the word and encourage family and friends who have a child in the eighth grade to attend. Your help and support is very much appreciated. |

Volunteers Needed
All Saints Catholic Elementary School is looking for volunteers for their annual pumpkin festival on Sunday, October 3 from 12-3. Student volunteers are needed to help supervise/run games areas, arts and craft tables, face painting, moonbounce and pony rides. Students interested in helping and receiving service hours should see Miss Medoff as soon as possible to sign up. |

Freshman Retreat
Notre Dame provides the opportunity for all students to go on a retreat with their classmates each year. Friday, October 1st is the freshman retreat. A retreat is an opportunity to take time out of the ordinary to reflect and grow in fellowship with classmates. Students will participate in icebreakers, hear speakers, break into small groups, eat lunch, and attend mass. The freshman retreat will take place in the gym and students are asked to bring in $5 to help cover the cost of food (lunch is provided). Girls' Basketball Fundraiser
The girls' basketball team will be sponsoring a car wash on Saturday, September 25 from 8 am-2 pm at the school. Cars are $5 and SUVs are $8. Players are selling advanced tickets, but donations the day-of will certainly be accepted. |

The Town of Fairfield Health Department
The Town of Fairfield Health Department provides teeth cleaning and topical fluoride treatments for students meeting income guidelines. Applications for this service are due by October 12. Information will be included in the October tuition mailing.
