... Senior Shyam Desai who attended Harvard University's Summer School Program for seven weeks this past June and July. Living on campus in Cambridge, MA, Shyam was among high school and college students from around the world attending this prestigious program. Shyam earned eight college credits by taking a two semester Introductory Biology course. In his free time, Shyam volunteered at a food pantry in Boston.

On Monday, September 13, the C-SPAN Digital Bus visited Notre Dame. Thanks to Cablevision and MSG Varsity, ND was selected to host this customized coach which engages students through interactive media. Students in several classes visited the bus and experienced hands-on learning about C-SPAN and the inner-workings of the network devoted to coverage of Congress and Washington, D.C.

 

On Friday morning, September 17, freshmen and sophomores had the opportunity to speak with representives of each ND club and extra-curricular activity. Students were able to obtain information and sign-up to participate in the club's activities. This first-time event was very well received by both students and faculty.

The girls' basketball team will be sponsoring a car wash on Saturday, September 25 from 8 am-2 pm at the school. Cars are $5 and SUVs are $8. Players are selling advanced tickets, but donations the day-of will certainly be accepted.

 

Notre Dame is excited to welcome two new coaches to its coaching staff: Eric McGrath has taken over leading the girls' soccer team and Georgia (Chirigos) Papakasmos '93 is coaching volleyball. Georgia is the only player in ND's history to be named to the All State volleyball team.

 

Athletic Director Rob Bleggi also thanks parents and student-athletes who attended the "Meet the Coaches Night" earlier this month.
