Each evening at Cross Roads House, volunteers prepare and serve a home-style dinner for the residents at our shelter. Most nights, our dining room is filled with up to 70 men, women, and children seeking food and shelter. Staffed entirely by volunteers, with the assistance of our staff Volunteer Coordinator Diane Bundow, each meal is prepared either on site in our new kitchen or in a volunteer's home and brought into the shelter. You can help us by becoming one of our volunteers! We currently need additional volunteers in our dining room and kitchen - you can sign up to cook, serve, or do both. Dinner prep and serving time is from 4:45 to 7:00 pm. Many volunteers come in once a month after an initial trial period. Want to learn more? If this is an opportunity that interests you, we have two upcoming orientations: Tuesday, March 1 at 7 pm and Thursday, March 24 at 7 pm. Both sessions will be held in the Cross Roads House dining room. Please RSVP by contacting Diane Bundow. If you are unable to attend one of these orientations, or have questions you'd like answered prior to then, please email us or call 603-436-2218 x 111 and speak with Diane. Please note volunteers must be 16 years or older and those 18 and under must be supervised by an adult.
Carrying out a hot pan of food from the kitchen is volunteer David Moore.
