GYC Carnival: Game Booths
 By: Jasmine Banks

Hi, my name is Jasmine and I am over the Game Booths area during the carnival. The booths portion of the carnival consists of Game Booths, Petite Salon, Face Painting and Removable Tattoos, and Arts and Crafts. In the Game Booth section there will be plenty of games for young children, including many that are new to the GYC Carnival like tic-tac-toe, mini-bowling, mini-golf and much more!
On Stage At Artistry Awards
 By: Adrienne White

I feel that Artistry Awards was a great experience and I recommend that anyone with a good talent should participate. Upon hearing about Artistry Awards I was ecstatic at the thought of performing in front of a crowd. However, those feelings subsided as the day drew closer. On the day of Artistry Awards I was completely nervous because my family and friends were there watching. As I took my position on the stage and the lights came on I knew that I would have to give it my all. Throughout the routine there were lots of mistakes and after the performance I was on edge about the audience's reaction. To my surprise everyone thought the performance was great which really lifted my spirits. In the end I was glad that I had participated in Artistry Awards and it is an experience I will never forget.

Clash of the Titans
 By: Kendall Amaker

Clash of the Titans is one of the #1 action movies of 2010; though this year has just begun the movie is that good. This movie is loaded with suspense, adventures, numerous fights, and even some romance. This is a movie about the great warrior Perseus, how he was born, and his famous battles. You'll learn about Perseus's mysterious past, as well as his adventurous future. In the movie, Perseus fights deadly creatures of legend: the Kraken, Medusa, giant scorpions, and more. Perseus meets the beautiful immortal Io, which he falls in love with. Midway through the movie, Perseus finds out about his birth and legendary father, whom he has never met. I strongly recommend this movie for anybody who loves romance and/or action.

COMING SOON: GYC Birthday Parties!
By: Sierra Lloyd

In the upcoming months of spring the Greensboro Youth Council will begin to hold the GYC Birthday Parties. These events will allow volunteers to work with young children in activities such as face painting & Tattoos, inflatables, and games. The birthday parties will be held at Simpkins Recreation Center located in Barber Park. Volunteers will be needed and shifts will probably last no more than an hour. No parties have been booked yet but if you think that you are interested in these wonderful volunteer opportunities, look forward to more information at upcoming full council meetings.
My Experience at GYC!
By: Siarrah Banks

Wassup Readers! My name is Siarrah Banks, I'm a junior and I go to Dudley High School. I've been attending GYC with my sister for about six months now and already I'm doing things I never thought I could do! At first I thought it was going to be boring, but the more I kept coming and the more I participated, it began to get fun! I love coming to GYC! Everybody here is like "one big family". I mostly design and decorate GYC boards that goes up for Full Council meetings. I definitely plan to attend GYC next year.

We hope you enjoyed this edition of Connections

Sincerely,
