Sandwich, MA--The group that Barbara Anderson founded and which brought us Proposition 2&1/2 endorsed Randy Hunt, CPA and Republican candidate for the 5th Barnstable District state representative seat.
"I share CLT's view that the state has a spending problem, not a revenue problem," Hunt said. "The governor and legislature picked some low hanging fruit and declared 'Reform Before Revenue,' then quickly raised the sales tax with little debate and no input from the voters.
"Is it any wonder that taxpayers have had enough and are getting behind Questions 1 and 3, which would repeal sales tax on already heavily taxed liquor and cut the general sales tax from 6.25% to 3%?" Hunt continued, "Barbara Anderson and I agree that Question 3 offers an opportunity for voters to send a clear message to Beacon Hill: We're going to start driving this bus and we're going to tell you how much of our money you get to use."
Campaign manager, Frank Pannorfi, added: "Citizens for Limited Taxation recognizes that Randy Hunt, a certified public accountant, will work hard to root out wasteful spending and support the real reforms and reorganization needed to deal with our government's spending addiction. Randy has committed not to vote for new taxes and you can take that to the bank."
