HUNT OUTPACES OPPONENT IN FUNDRAISING
Tuscan Evening fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, September 25th

Sandwich, MA--Randy Hunt, Republican candidate for the 5th Barnstable District state representative seat, outraised his opponent by more than five-to-one according to reports filed with the Office of Campaign and Political Finance (OCPF). Outside contributions to Hunt's campaign totaled $32,647 for the period ended August 25, 2010. His opponent raised $6,010.

"Campaigns are expensive," Hunt commented. "Lawn signs, printed materials, direct mail, advertising in the media; all consume significant resources in a race for state representative."

Frank Pannorfi, campaign manager, added, "Though not a perfect barometer, the correlation between fundraising and success on election day is high. Fundraising is also a direct indicator of support for a candidate and robustness of the campaign organization."

Hunt not only outpaced his opponent, his contributions bested every candidate running for state representative on Cape Cod and the Islands, Republican or Democrat, save one.

Hunt added, "The OCPF analyzes fundraising after each state election. In their report covering the 2008 election, they noted that successful candidates raised an average of $40,359 and unsuccessful candidates averaged $18,227. We are certainly on pace to exceed that."

"The campaign is in high gear, now that the primary election is over, and we have many events and appearances scheduled for these busy seven weeks," Pannorfi added. "Our next fundraiser is a Tuscan Evening at the American Legion in Sandwich at 6pm on Saturday, September 25th." Hunt quipped, "What was originally billed as a Pasta Supper has been upgraded since we found a strolling violinist to add panache to the event."
