 TurboSonic Benefits My Patients and My Practice! Does Dr. Carl Rothschild look familiar? If you have seen our TurboSonic DVD, you'll recognize him from his appearance there. Dr. Rothschild has long been an advocate for Turbosonic's brand of sonic whole body vertical vibration fitness. We thought his story was so compelling that we wanted to share it with you. THE PATIENT'S BENEFITS Q: When did you start using the TurboSonic in your chiropractic practice and what do you use it for? A: Over five years ago, we put it in our office and it has been a very valuable tool right from the start. We use it for our patients that need exercise but may not have the ability to exercise in a traditional manner due to muscular, skeletal or health problems. Plus, I use it myself and find that taking only a 10 minute break to use the TurboSonic helps keep me feeling energized throughout my busy day. Q: What purpose is the TurboSonic used for the most? A: It varies widely but approximately one third of our clients use it to aid with weight loss. Turbosonic's sound vibrations help reduce cellulite as it moves and distributes the body's fluids and provides a toning of the facial muscles that you don't get from tradiional exercise. Another large segment are patients recovering from injuries and need to exercise but their condition has created constraints that limit their physical abilities. We also have trainers that work with our TurboSonic patients to employ exercises, power bands, weights and to do leg work on the Turbosonic based on each patient's needs and abilities. Q: As you have mentioned, a lot of your TurboSonic users have suffered injuries. Are you able to bill insurance for their TurboSonic sessions? A: Yes. CP codes exist for many uses of the TurboSonic and it makes it easy and affordable then to add to our patient's total wellness regime to return to health. Q: Who do you think benefits the most from TurboSonic use? A: I have found it to be a valuable tool for the disabled, the injured and many patients' health concerns that can respond to exercise. I think there should be Turbosonic units in every convalescent center in the country because if the patient can stand or sit for 10 minutes they can benefit from TurboSonic exercise. THE PRACTICE'S BENEFITS Q: Has the TurboSonic produced any benefits beyond patient care for your practice? A: In the beginning not much as we weren't even aware of it's capabilities and whole body vibration in general was just beginning to become a more known concept in the exercise and healthcare industry. But once our practice had worked with it for a bit we realized the potential to help our clients and as a marketing tool. Q: Really? How can the TurboSonic be a marketing tool? A: We realized that while our patients were on the TurboSonic for 10 minutes, they could also be learning more about all the services we offer. Just as when people use exercise bikes while watching TV or videos, we could do the same. So now when they are on the unit we play a video for them about all our available services that they may not be aware of such as massage services as well as videos about the benefits of the TurboSonic. This has really increased the spectrum of services that our clients want incorporated into their treatment plan. Plus its a no pressure way to educate them while helping to increase our practice's success. Have you shared this with other doctors and practitioners? A: We have recently teamed up with a marketing firm to do just that. It has quickly helped expand our business for almost no cost. We first used the concept to market the massage therapist portion of the practice and it was truly amazing. So now we have worked with the same marketing group to create the "Vibrate for Health" website to show other doctors, therapists and practioners how the TurboSonic can dramatically grow their practice. Q: How does this work? A: The marketing group sells an offer of 5-7 Turbosonic sessions online, in print material and on the radio. They then refer these patients to practices in the clients' areas. In exchange for them keeping this money, they do the marketing, manage the website and handle the call center (which is in the works.) It's a no risk opportunity to use whole body vibration as a method of introducing your office and all of your other services to lots of quality patients from areas around your office location. Q: How many patients has this brought to your practice on average? A: We were astounded! We have no fewer than 15 new people a month brought to us through this TurboSonic Offer. So when they come in for their appointment, we greet them and tell them about our practice's services briefly and then instruct them on how to use the TurboSonic. Then while they are having their 10 minute TurboSonic session we play the videos for them to watch. After their session we also give them our marketing materials to take home. Q: Have many of these clients come back for the TurboSonic and your other services? A: Yes and they also tell their friends and family about about us. It has really increased our patient list. Q: What's the cost to participate? A: The marketing company has waived all fees for Turbosonic locations anywhere in the country. So the only cost to you is the electricity you use to run your TurboSonic. As I mentioned earlier, the marketing company keeps the fees for the TurboSonic Session Packages they sell, but charges the practice nothing.
