I hope you all had a great summer and were able to do some fun things with your dog.

This summer Audrey and I had some fun doing Nosework and a Circus Class.

Read about our adventures in this month's Feature Article.

What I Did with My Dog This Summer

Dog Squad Logo Circus Class
This summer I enrolled Audrey into "Friends of the Family Dog Training" Circus Class taught by Francis Metcalf and his wife Norma. The class was an absolute blast for both of us.

There is a great write up about them and their class in a recent article in SFGate

We have even enrolled in Circus II coming up in a few weeks. Francis is a fantastic teacher and I highly recommend this class to any one who wants to have something engaging and fun to do with their dog(s).

Nosework Seminar and Class with Andrew Ramsey

This summer I sponsored a 4 day Nosework Seminar with Andrew Ramsey of Ramsey K9 Services and then following the seminar four

of us also took a four day class with Andrew.

At the Seminar we all had a great time and were exhausted after each day of work. I don't know how Andrew did it. He worked tirelessly each day, only taking a lunch break and a few needed bathroom runs.

Everyone appreciated his positive, low key, no nonsense approach to working the dogs and handlers.

Anrdrew is a great teacher and knows how to get the best from each handler and dog team.

You can view a photo album of the seminar by going to my FaceBook page.

After the Seminar four of us enrolled in a 4 day class at Andrew's place and by the end of the class all the dogs were working on scent only.
Several of us will be taking the next step to getting involved in competition and titling.
