Phew! What a year. The challenges caused by the snow at the start and end of  the year sums up what a full-on, hard working year it has been with many obstacles we've had to overcome. 

My observation is that this year people have pushed out their comfort zone more than they usually do, learnt to deal with uncertainty and had to be more resourceful, creative and resilient. It hasn't been an easy year, but a year that has created inner growth, heightened awareness plus stress for many.

How was your year?

Time to reflect is easy in theory, but hard in reality with such busy lives. I am really glad that I made time to look at trends, meaning my business is well positioned as we come out of the downturn, in 4 growth markets, and that I examined areas of my business which I had avoided, ignored or spent too little time on. I am looking forward to a rest over the break and to catch up with myself! This is a good time of year to reflect and I hope this bulletin helps.

I don't know about you, but I think a key theme this year has been focusing on the essential. Inertia and mediocrity are no longer permissible and performance is definitely a key focus, after the shedding of jobs. Next year I think efficiency, smart working and fairness are going to be key trends to watch.  I predict the year will be a bit of a roller coaster and definitely not dull, but 'character building'!

'Austerity' is not a word I like, it is a bit harsh! Theme for next year is 'resilient enterprise!' Wishing you a restful break and that next year brings you what you wish for. Isn't it great to know that whatever life or work throws at us, we can always choose our attitude.
