Over the past year the census at Casa Vida y Esperanza (CVE) has increased to around fifty children. They range in age from newborns to almost eighteen, and include a six year old handicapped boy who cannot walk or talk.

It was not part of the original plan to care for babies or handicapped children, but the Lord has provided wonderful servants to care for each one. What a blessing each of the children have been to the staff and to those who visit. The children are living in family units that are spread across campus at CVE. Thanks be to God for the family environment to nurture their growth and set a pattern for their future.

Colegio Verdad y Vida (CVV) School
|
The school, Colegio Verdad y Vida (Truth and Life School), continues to grow, and all but the youngest children, four and younger, are enrolled in school. Classes are offered for kindergarten through high school.
Currently some students from the community who do not live at CVE are also offered the opportunity for schooling at CVV. The goal and prayer of the staff is to offer a quality education to families who are in need of a stable environment for their children.

The church at Magdalena has grown in membership and attendance as a number of souls were baptized over the last year. The annual VBS last August drew about 500 children eager to learn. The Lord provided extra help to plant a seed in their young hearts.
The church also witnessed its first wedding as a young church. What a witness a faith marriage can be to those who have never experienced what it means to live with a mother and father in the home. The first funeral held this past year was also an opportunity to share the love of Christ with those who are hurting.

Hundreds of brothers, sisters and friends have blessed CVE by sharing a week of work and worship in 2011. Lord willing, many more will visit the campus this year. Thankfully God has provided a safe place for church family visitors to share in the joys of getting to know our children and staff.
Work team members often have opportunity to share how God has worked in their lives along with providing countless hours of labor. Work teams have built the facilities at CVE, allowing staff to meet the physical and spiritual needs of children and adults. Thank you! See work team schedule for Magdalena.

2011 was the first full year that allowed CVE to partner with a couple of businesses outside of CVE that were started by brethren to bring hope and opportunity to the children, and to those in the community who need ways to support their families.
Café Sed is a coffee shop and Christian bookstore in the heart of the town, and is a quiet place for the community to spend time away from the noise of life. The coffee shop gave out over 1,000 Bibles in the past year to those who desire to read the Word.
Productos Carnicos (Meat Products) is a meat processing business that makes snack sticks, beef jerky, and other processed meat products. Brethren involved in the business pray they can provide long-term opportunities to those in need of stable employment.
The CVE staff wishes to thank you, the body of Christ, for all of your love, support, and most importantly your prayers. Without the blessing of our Lord, CVE and the Magdalena church would not exist as they do today! This is the Lord's work. Thanks be to Him for all things.
