ASI's Root Down™ Negative Pressure IrriVac™ is a wand style titanium handpiece that accepts all standard luer type needles and delivers any common irrigant solutions with a finger-friendly push-button. Irrigant is dispensed at the coronal access through a piece of tubing over the needle and pulled into the canal. ASI's new disposable iNP™ Negative Pressure Needle, used with ASI's Root Down™ Negative Pressure IrriVac™ achieves full working length, maintains aspiration and adequately evacuates debris from the canal.
The tapered shape tip of the iNP™ needle has an inner diameter of 0.26 and an outer diameter of .36 for insertion into the apical end while still allowing adequate irrigant flow alongside the needle. The iNP™ needle's inside diameter beyond the tapered shape is .50 ID and .65 OD to maintain aspiration and adequately remove debris.
Essentially the iNP™ needle has the reach of a 30 gauge needle and a flow rate of a 22 gauge needle. Both characteristics make possible irrigant flow to the apical region and adequate debris removal from the canal.
