Broadcast Calibration

Calibrating your boom sprayer always seems to provide moments of anxiety for most people. The possibility of changing application rates often presents problems that are quite often avoided by not changing anything on your spray rig. To get the most utility out of your (or your employers) substantial investment in equipment, it pays to take a look at what you are spraying and at what rate.

Not all spray materials should be applied at the same dilution rate. Fertilizers, fungicides and herbicides work best when applied according to their individual product label. Determining which nozzle tip you need is critical to a successful application.

To figure out what size tip you need you need to know how many gallons per acre you want to apply, how fast you will traveling, and how wide your spray width is. This is the calculation you will use to determine your nozzle output.

GPM per Acre
Lets assume you want to travel at 5 mph, apply 43.5 gallons per acre and your sprayer has nozzles spaced at 20 inches. What size nozzle tip do you need? (see answer below*)

TeeJet ® has a calibration calculator here, calibration calculator on their excellent website. Take a look at TeeJet for many helpful hints on nozzle selection and calibration.

Manual Controls
Manual Controls
By popular request, manual control valves are available again. These valves offer an economical alternative to the motorized valves and electric controls that we currently offer.

These manual control valves offer three section spray control without a master on/off or metered bypass function. A pressure regulator and pressure gauge allow for easy adjustment of your spray solution. Give us call for additional information.
