REGION 1

We'll See You On the Trail 

The Tierra Del Norte Arabian Horse Association will host a trail ride, April 7, 2012 at Dailey Ranch in San Diego County. Call Heidi Helly at (760) 749-4063 for more information. 

Don't Miss Region 1 Delegate Meeting

The Region One delegate meeting is at 7 p.m. on April 14 at Pat & Oscars Restaurant in Temecula, Calif. Come at 5 p.m. for social hour and dinner. 

AHASC Taking Scholarship Applications

The Arabian Horse Association of Southern California (AHASC) has a long history of providing scholarships to their youth and college-age members. Following the death of long-time AHASC member and IAHA Past President, Norm Dunn, the scholarship was renamed in his memory. Over the past 10 years the AHASC has awarded over $35,000 in scholarships and is now accepting applications. Up to $2,000 will be awarded. Visit www.ahasc.org for more information. 

Region 1 Taking Scholarship Applications

Region 1 is offering scholarships to seniors in high school that are active in a club within Region One.  More info can be found on www.aharegionone.org .  

SoCal Half-Arabian Show at Galway Downs

The Southern California Half-Arabian Association show, May 25-27, 2012 will be at Galway Downs in Temecula, Calif. The show is a qualifying show for Region 1, Pacific Slope, U.S., Canadian, Youth and Sport Horse Nationals. AHA Recognized - USEF "N". Visit www.schaa.org for more information.

Enter Region 1 Champ before April 18

The Region 1 Championship and Qualifying Pre-Show, May 30 - June 3 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, Calif. entry deadline is April 18. Come see where the turf meets the surf. Click here for hotel, restaurant, and nearby shopping information.   

Get Your Feet Wet with a Low Cost Show

The Tierra Del Norte Arabian Horse Association will host an Arabian Community Show, May 6, 2012. This one-day show is open to all breeds, with an emphasis on Arabians of all kinds. This show is a great way to get your feet wet in the show arena at the low cost of $8.00 per class. REGION 4

Judging & Scheduling Info. for Region 4 Show

The 2012 Region 4 Championship Show is June 16 - 23, at the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho. Regional judges include, Karen-Homer Brown, Gary Dearth and Scott Benjamin. The pre-show judge is Cathy Vecsey. Van Greenwell is judging all cutting, Kathy Callahan-Smith is judging pre-show working western, and Chris Kozlowski is the Regional reining and working cow judge. The pre-show cutting has been moved to Saturday, June 16 in the afternoon, with Regional cutting classes on Sunday, June 17.  The other pre-show classes will be Sunday, June 17 and Monday, June 18.  All of the Region 4 Championship classes, except cutting, will be June 19 - 23. After winning the USEF Favorite Arabian Show award in 2010 and 2011, we are looking forward to providing another awesome Region 4 Show at the Idaho Horse Park!

REGION 6

Montana AHA All Breed and AHA Class "A" Show

Montana Arabian Horse Association will host an all-breed, open show that includes a Class "A" Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian Show, May 25-28 at the Metrapark in Billings, Mont. Please take a look at the MAHA website for more information or contact Laura Lee Anderson at (406) 855-5411.

Region 6 Championship Show Prize List to be Posted 

The Region 6 Championship Show and Pre-Show Prize List will soon be posted on the Region 6 website. If you have comments with regard to the schedules of the two shows, please contact Myron Krause, Show Manager, in a timely manner so corrections can be made.

 

REGION 9

Get Info on Up-coming Endurance and CTR Events

The Region 9 Endurance Championship is April 28

and the Region 9 CTR is September 8-9. Both rides are at the LBJ Grasslands near Decatur, Tex. Contact Carla Jo Bass for more information. 

First Show in High Point Series

The first in a series of Schooling/High Point Shows will begin April 28 at the White County Fairgrounds in Searcy, Ark. Click here for information.

REGION 10

Region 10 Youth Round Up Receives Recognition

The Region 10 Youth Round Up received a letter of congratulations from USEF for positive exhibitor feedback as part of the USEF Favorite Breeds Competition. The show was a great success with the addition of academy classes and select rider classes for all ages drawing additional exhibitors. These great additions will be continued in 2012 at the show on May 12-13 at the Minnesota Equestrian Center in Winona, Minn. 

 

The Region 10 Board of Delegates voted to increase support of youth activities by designating profits from the Round Up show to stay in the Region 10 Youth budget rather than going to the general fund and increasing the overall budget for Region 10 Youth.  

Youth Events Planned for Region 10 Show

Region 10 will provide some fun new events for youth at the Region 10 Championship Show, including the annual ice cream social and scavenger hunt. The Region 10 Championship Show is June 14-16 with a pre-show June 13 in St. Paul, Minn. For a complete calendar of regional meetings, shows and clinics, click here

Wisconsin AHA Hosts Clinic in Mount Horeb

Wisconsin Arabian Horse Association will host a clinic with world-renowned horseman Ray LaCroix, April 14-15, at the Blue Mounds Equine Center in Mount Horeb, Wisc. Register early to ride your horse both days--spots are going fast. Or register as an auditor and learn from Ray's input to all horse and rider teams. Top Horse Fair in Madison Includes Arabians

The Midwest Horse Fair, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisc., is in the heart of Region 10. According to the Midwest Horse Fair website the Midwest Horse Fair� is one of the top 3-day horse fairs in America. Hundreds of clinics, seminars and educational events are presented by some of the top horse professionals from around the country. Over 500 vendor booths offer shopping opportunities with something for everyone. The horse fair features excellent promotion of the Arabian horse coordinated by the Wisconsin Arabian Horse Association on behalf of Region 10. Minn. AHA Members Promoting the Arabian at the Minn. Expo 

Eleven Arabian horses at the Minnesota Horse Expo, April 27-29, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, in St. Paul will show tens of thousands of visitors the beauty, kindness and versatility of the Arabian horse.  The horses will participate in the Parade of Breeds in native costume, hunter, side saddle, English and western pleasure, and dressage attire. All the horses will be goodwill ambassadors to the people that tour the barns. Spectators love to "visit" with the horses and watch the videos of Arabian horses on the big screen TV that is in front of the stalls. Many volunteers will be on hand to educate the public and give them a chance to meet an Arabian up close.  Almost every breed will be represented along with 14+ clinicians and speakers on all disciplines and health care. Since the first Expo in 1991, the Minnesota Horse Expo has provided more than $3,400,000 to the Minnesota Horse Council for support of the equine industry. Wisconsin Desert Horse Association at the Horse-A-Rama

The WDHA has had a booth at Horse-A-Rama for 23 of the 24 years since Horse-A-Rama began.The breed demonstration is a crowd favorite that has standing room only with many people following the Arabians back to their stalls for closer look. Region 18 Championship Show July 16- 21

Qualify at our Last Chance show and ride in a wonderful facility, Agriplex at the Western Fair District, in London, Ontario. The show grounds are located in the heart of London, ON and close to all the amenities; shopping, dining and hotels, with many other attractions available nearby. Indoor wash bays, on-site showers, a lunch counter in the air conditioned foyer and a large hitching ring with a big bright show ring will make your event enjoyable and memorable. The staff and the people of London are welcoming and make this not only an economical choice to qualify for Canadian and U.S. Nationals, but a joy to show and visit. The judges for 2012 are Rick Moser of Florida, Liz Ann Bartlett of Pennsylvania and Joseph Polo of Indiana. Close to the 401 and easily accessed by our U.S. neighbors to the south, this is a regional show that can be called nothing but fun!
