AHYA Visits Denver, Colorado
The 2011-2012 AHYA Youth Board visited Denver, Colo. for their annual March Board Meeting. The trip was filled with educational opportunities, successful meetings, and lively discussion. This year's Youth Board is
shaping up to be a very hard working group of equine enthusiasts.
Some early arrivals participated in a Denver City Tour including a visit to the Denver Mint and Hammond's Candy Factory. Attendees ventured up to the beautiful, snow covered mountains and discovered breathtaking city views from Colorado's famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.
The AHYA Board met over two days, setting goals and laying out the youth activities schedule for the year. Creative planning for this year's AHYA Convention is well under way. The 2012 theme is AHYA, Through the ERAbs - a play on words for the different decades and eras in history.
Saturday afternoon, the Youth Board participated in a working luncheon with their adult counterparts from the AHA Board of Directors. The luncheon was a great opportunity for the Youth Board to ask the AHA Board of Directors about many youth-related topics as well as expresses the needs, interests and ideas that our youth members share.
For the AHYA President Laura Killian's complete coverage of the March meeting go to the AHYA website.

AHYA is Looking for Youth Activity Sponsors at Youth Nationals!
Piggies, stick horses, hippology and more, it's all planned for the 2012 Youth National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show. The AHYA Board is looking for activity and t-shirt sponsors. Think it would be cool to have your barn listed on the back of all of those qualifier t-shirts? Or maybe your family would like to sponsor a Stick Horse Workshop? Download a Youth Activity Sponsorship form today from the AHYA website by clicking here.
The AHYA Youth Board, in support of this year's theme, would like to challenge each region to decorate their Regional golf cart based on the
specific decade or era voted on by your Regional Youth Directors at the March meeting. A list of specific historical events will be available on the AHYA website to help get your creative and artistic juices flowing. Each cart will be different, each cart exciting, a journey though the eras! See the era assignments below.
