AHYA Visits Denver, Colorado
The 2011-2012 AHYA Youth Board visited Denver, Colo. for their annual March Board Meeting. The trip was filled with educational opportunities, successful meetings, and lively discussion. This year's Youth Board is
shaping up to be a very hard working group of equine enthusiasts.
Some early arrivals participated in a Denver City Tour including a visit to the Denver Mint and Hammond's Candy Factory. Attendees ventured up to the beautiful, snow covered mountains and discovered breathtaking city views from Colorado's famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.
The AHYA Board met over two days, setting goals and laying out the youth activities schedule for the year. Creative planning for this year's AHYA Convention is well under way. The 2012 theme is AHYA, Through the ERAbs - a play on words for the different decades and eras in history.
Saturday afternoon, the Youth Board participated in a working luncheon with their adult counterparts from the AHA Board of Directors. The luncheon was a great opportunity for the Youth Board to ask the AHA Board of Directors about many youth-related topics as well as expresses the needs, interests and ideas that our youth members share.
For the AHYA President Laura Killian's complete coverage of the March meeting go to the AHYA website. |
