Hemimegalencephaly Study
 Participants Needed

Hello dear HME families!  I wanted to notify everyone about an important opportunity regarding a proposed study on hemimegalencephaly.

Monika Jones, whose son Henry was born with hemimegalencephaly, has offered to help with a proposed study by UCLA regarding clinical outcomes of children with hemimegalencephaly.  In order to participate, you will be asked to respond to a questionnaire and provide pre-operative MRI examinations (preferably on CD) to UCLA.  Ms. Jones will assist you, if needed, in obtaining MRI CDs from your neurologist and transmitting them to the university.

This study should be ground-breaking and will help all of us understand our child's condition and outcomes.  If you are willing to participate in the study, please contact Monika Jones at monikajones7@yahoo.com.  If they get enough people who are interested, they'll continue with the next phase of the process.  If you have any questions or concerns before committing to participate, please direct them to Monika.

Best wishes for a great summer!  See some of you soon at the Hemispherectomy Family Retreat in Indianapolis!
