The Hemi Foundation Family Retreat - Indianapolis is Almost Here !!
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2010 National Hemispherectomy Foundation Family Retreat at Jameson Camp in Idianapolis, Indiana. We are anxiously anticipating an ejoyable and interactive event to enrich our lives and the lives of our families. This year's retreat promises a relaxing mix of education, support, and interaction between all of our Hemi Families. We are excited to see all of you on July 8th - 11th.
Co-Chair of The Hemispherectomy Foundation's Medical Advisory Board, Aaron A. Cohen-Gadol, M.D., M.Sc., from Methodist Hospital will be presenting at this years retreat. His presentation will be an event that you don't want to miss. Along with his discussions on Hemisphereotomy, and grid placement to avoid missed connections, we may also get an exclusive look into the case of a special child from Bosnia, who underwent hemispherectomy in the United States.
Finally, we're going to have some summer fun as we all do "Summer Camp" together at Jameson Camp. Swimming, Roasting Marshmallows, Playing together, and Sharing our Stories. Rumor has it that we'll be shooting a Professional Video for the Foundation as well. It will be a summer that you won't forget. So, Safe Travels, and we look forward to seeing you all in 2 weeks!

The 2010 West Coast Hemi Family Picnic was a Huge Success !!
Lots of families from the 2009 West Coast Hemi Family Picnic were present, and we had a few new people with us this time. A spunky little girl named Sasha who is about to have her hemi at UCLA on Thursday was there with her mom Shanna.
Also, Nora from San Diego who's 19 year old nephew in Egypt needsa hemispherectomy. His aunt was seeking support and answers, which she did receive on Saturday. She also had the opportunity to meet and speak with Dr. Mathern (Co-Chair of The Hemispherectomy Foundation Medical Advisory Board) at the picnic.
Big Thanks go to Rachel Waters for organizing this event for our Hemi Families in the West. A special thanks to Monika and Brad Jones who generously provided amazingphotographs of our picnic through their company Bella Baby Photography.
