Greetings!
If you're new to my work and checking it out via this newsletter for the first time, welcome. If you've been receiving the newsletter, thanks for your interest and support.
Winter
solstice is upon us! Check out the article below from my book Sacred
Ceremony on the foundations of these seasonal celebrations. The
symbolism of the various aspects and the practices all have their
roots in ancient festivities.
I'd
heard it was -40 (with a wind chill) in Alberta! Here in Laguna Beach
it's cold if it's +40 F! I have a hard time relating to that kind of
cold and I extend my commendation for those of you that even
occasionally have to endure those kind of temperatures!
I was in the post office today. Long line. Whenever I looked around no one was smiling. So I did the "dolphin smile." That's where you just turn up the edges of your lips, stand tall, and be kind to all other forms of life. Watch what happens.
Have a Happy Holiday, Merry Christmas, and a Rejuvenating Solstice and New Year.
Blessings,

Written by Dr. Steven Farmer
This is the season of religious and cultural celebrations worldwide,
including Christmas, New Year, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa. It's the darkest
day of the year, around December 21, yet with that darkness comes the
promise of the returning Light. Celebrations and stories abound across
cultures, telling of the birth of a sun God at this time of year. In
the fourth century, by decree, this time of year became the official
birthday of Jesus (the Christian "sun God"), and was moved to coincide
with more familiar Solstice festivals and holidays.
Many of the better known practices of this season have their roots
in the practices of ancient peoples. One of these is the ancient Roman
festival, Saturnalia, named after the god Saturn, which took
place at this time of the year. It was considered to be the greatest
festival of the year in Imperial Rome. A week-long celebration starting
on December 18 and lasting until December 25, it was a time of revelry
and the upheaval of social norms, where society was turned upside-down. Distinctions between servants and masters were temporarily
abolished, schools were out, courts were closed, and even wars were
delayed. Evergreens were used for decoration, feasts were held, and
sexual liberties were indulged. It was all out party time, a time for
pranks and practical jokes, time to revel and.....

Dear Doc
The Doctor is in and answering your emails! Do you have a question, experience or problem you would like help with? Email info@DrStevenFarmer.com and the answer may appear in the next newsletter.
Dear Doc,
This was a dream.
I was quietly sitting on a large rock next to a roaring tiger. I looked in front of me, and there was a huge male elephant trumpeting back at the bb vc v. If I wanted to, I could have reached out my hand to touch him. I could see the patterns in his fur, hear him breathing heavily, smell him. I sat as still as possible, fascinated, but wary of being noticed.
The animals then charged at each other. The elephant bit off the tiger's head. I wasn't frightened, just observing. Then I noticed the tiger was still breathing, and I could clearly see an energy outline of his whole, complete self with his head still attached.
The tiger then chomped off the elephant's trunk. Again, I saw the energy outline, this time off the elephant's trunk, making him still whole. And he was also still alive and breathing. The just stood that way, breathing heavily, looking at each other.
I just sat still, thinking about the fact that I could still see their energy outlines, whole and complete. I am familiar with reiki, so I was wondering about this, too.
I decided to wake up, and in that second, between dreaming and wakefulness, heard the word "shamanism".
It was very clear, and I know, somehow, that I was with these animals. This dream was very powerful in feeling, and I know there is a message there for me.
I would love to know what you have to say about this!
Thank you,
Georgi
Dear Georgi,
Fascinating and very rich imagery in your dream. Some shamanic practitioners as well as others will seek their guidance by falling asleep and dreaming. This applies to you. Dreaming is one of the more powerful ways you'll find your spiritual guidance and healing.
 The dream.
The tiger in the dream feels like your power animal, a source of your "roar." You sit comfortably next to this power but if you come from your mind solely, you'll get your head bit off. The connection with Tiger spirit is one of the heart and belly.
Once the tiger had his head bit off by Elephant, what emerged was the gift of seeing auras. Watch how the power of this gift increases in ordinary reality as well. Once this tiger was operating again with an etheric head, he bit off the nose of the elephant. Spirit of Elephant is both the immensity of the task you know lays before as well as a reminder that you can overcome any obstacles. Let nothing stand in your way of following Spirit's directives. Otherwise you get your nose bitten off!
There are two forces represented in the dream by these spirit animals. One, Tiger, being your passion and the other, Elephant, being the need to have a mission you can feel passionate about. They seem to clash but instead they sort of merge, ingest some of each other's bodies, and somehow are miraculously and magically whole again. But they are only whole again when you see them with your second sight, or Spirit vision.
The other representation in the dream is the way they charged each other. That feels like this reflects the conflicting feelings about the direction of your life. The elephant feels like the more ponderous aspects of your life, while the tiger is awakening inside you. Tiger can mean passion, fire, sensuality, dignity, and instinct. All of these elements are becoming strong for you as well in terms of their importance. But there are still some elemental fears of fully owning and expressing these growing aspects. Yet you are close to this transition cycle coming to a conclusion of sorts.
Your exploration of this being was totally kinesthetic. You wrote "I could have reached out my hand to touch him. I could see the patterns in his fur, hear him breathing heavily, smell him. I sat as still as possible, fascinated, but wary of being noticed." Note the last sentence. Guess what? It's time to let yourself be noticed.
Blessings,
