Springing ahead has got all of us here at Voyageur longing for sunny skies and blooming flowers, which also got us talking about all the great benefits of our floral ingredients.  In this newsletter we'll share with you the great benefits that flowers can have on our body, mind and spirit as well as some wonderful skin care recipes to help you renew and refresh your skin!

Jasmine has a rich, warm but sweet floral scent that lingers nicely. It has been reputed for centuries as an aphrodisiac but more recently has been studied for its soothing and calming benefits, as well as its ability to help with mental alertness. In skin care, Jasmine is great for both sensitive and mature skin types.  Try our Jasmine Absolute Essential Oil, Jasmine Flowers or Jasmine Tea in your next recipe!

Regenerative and anti-inflammatory, Calendula is known as an effective treatment for burnt, irritated and inflamed skin. Its helps to soften and soothe dry, chapped skin and is very effective on ageing skin or those that suffer from dry skin conditions.  Try our ready infused Calendula Oil, make your own infusion using Calendula Petals or try our Calendula Intensive Moisturizing Lotion Kit!

Rose has a heavy, sweet, floral scent. It is reputed for it's emollient properties on all skin types, especially mature, dry and sensitive skin as it helps to tone and lift the skin and is also said to help with inflammation.  We carry a beautiful Rose absolute essential oil or Rose hydrosol to make for easy incorporation into your products. The dried petals are a beautiful addition to bath teas, layered in bath salts and to add decorative touches to your products.  Rose has been known for centuries as one of the most romantic flowers and is said to be a wonderful aphrodisiac!

Orange Blossom or Neroli has a sweet, floral citrus scent popular by perfumers. The Hydrosol and Essential Oil are excellent choices for dry, sensitive and mature skin as it regenerates skin cells and improves skin's elasticity. Reputed for it's ability to minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, it makes an excellent choice in facial toners and cleansers. Great in diffusers and massage to help relieve tension.

Chamomile Essential Oil, Flowers, Hydrosol, and powdered Extract are all available at Voyageur due to this flowers great skin care properties.  Chamomile is used for its soothing effects, its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties and its ability to help protect dry skin conditions.  Its sweet lingering floral scent makes it popular in perfumes and its gentle, soothing properties are excellent for diffusing.

Give yourself a spa treatment at home using our wonderful selection of dried florals and pure essential oils.  Facial steams are an excellent way to refresh for your skin by opening up pores, detoxifying and releasing dirt and grime. Take a handful of dried florals, sprinkle with drops of essential oils and place in a pot of water and cover.  Bring to a boil, remove from heat and allow to steep for 5 minutes.  Remove lid, place a towel over your head and pot to create a tent and steam for 10 minutes.  Make sure you come away from the heat if it becomes too hot.
