This busy, hectic season has brought us some great new products and generous savings.  For a full list of what's on sale click HERE.  First, we would like to introduce our new soy wax, EcoSoya!  We now have two different blends of soy container candle wax: CB Advanced for perfect container candles, and CB 135 which has been dermatology tested for massage candles.  This wax ships well in any weather conditions and can withstand all climates.

EcoSoya CB Advanced Soy is made from pure soybeans and carefully selected botanical oils.  Candles made with CB Advanced Soy Wax resist frosting, have a smooth top surface and an even burn pool with consistent colour retention.  EcoSoya CB Advanced Soy has extreme resistance to bloom (white frosting) and wet spots (wax contracting away from the container).  It contracts slightly to produce a uniform beautiful appearance, requires only one pour, has good scent throw with fragrances, and a creamy white appearance.  

EcoSoya CB 135 Soy is made from soybeans and carefully selected botanical oils as well.  Candles made with CB 135 Soy have a soft, creamy appearance and a smooth flat top surface.  It has excellent scent throw with both fragrances and essential oils and a white appearance with some potential to bloom when using dyes.

Ever wondered what might help cracked, sore skin or dry skin conditions?  A fabulous gift idea and a winter wind saviour is our Massage Bar Base.  Easily melted down and poured into 10 g or 75 g Oval Stick Containers, this incredibly moisturizing bar penetrates the first few layers of the skin to hydrate and comfort the epidermis.  It is customizable by adding in butters or specialized skin care oils, as well as therapeutic essential oils.  What luck, the Massage Bar Base and Oval Stick Containers are also on sale! 

Creating spa-quality, beautiful massage candles has never been this easy!  Whether they are made for a romantic evening, produced for a business, or customized for a loved one's needs, this trendy and natural gift is well-received by all.  

The following recipe yields 6 - 6 oz Massage Candle Tins:
454 g EcoSoya CB 135 Container Candle Wax
150 ml Sweet Almond Oil
5 ml (1 tsp) Oil Soluble Fragrance Oil (if using Essential Oils use 2.5ml (1/2 tsp)
1 RRD 47 6" Wick

Heat soy wax and oil in a double boiler over low-med heat until all flakes are melted (155 degrees F).  Remove from heat, add fragrance oil (at a temperature no lower than 135 degrees F), then pour into your wicked container.  Reposition the wick as necessary and let cool for at least 48 hours before using.  Trim wick and use the remains for a new candle using our wick tabs!

Try the following variations:

• During this cold, blustery season many of us have dry, chapped and sensitive skin.  Try using specialized skin care oils in place of the sweet almond, such as Evening Primrose or Avocado Oil.  For extra-soft skin, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, or Mango Butter can be added as well. 
• For a decadent treat, try adding our Nail and Cuticle Essential Oil Blend and give the candle as a special hand treatment and cuticle oil! 
• Try adding a cosmetic Flavour for some exciting possibilities!  You can also sweeten it further with Stevia Leaf Powder, just remember to do a taste test first.

Soy container candles are an incredibly professional-looking product frequently used for their aroma-therapeutic properties.  Unbelievably simple and fun to make, these candles that retail in stores for $10 to $15 but can cost as little as $2.50 each to produce!  All you have to do is follow the simple directions below.

We are huge fans of Soy Wax.  As candle makers for decades, we have made more paraffin candles than we even want to remember.  Soy is simply put the perfect solution to all the negatives of paraffin.

Biodegradable, Soy Wax is made from a natural vegetable oil, rather than from petroleum.  A renewable resource, it does not have the oil smell of paraffin, works great with essential oils and has a great scent throw, is easily cleaned up (Soap & Water), is a one pour candle product, and has a low burn temperature so they are safer to use.  Also Soy candles are long lasting, burning an average of 30 to 50% longer than similar paraffin candles.

QUICK AND EASY SOY CANDLE DIRECTIONS:
Heat the wax to approx. 155 degrees F in a double boiler, stirring constantly.  Remove from heat and add fragrance or essential oil (maximum scent load is 12% for fragrance oils, less if using essential oils) at a temperature no less than 135 degrees F.  If using smaller containers less than 8 oz, pour the wax at a temperature of 155 degrees F.  If using large containers pour the wax at a lower temperature of 125 degrees F.  If any problems are encountered, take a look at our Soy Wax Troubleshooting Guide.  Looking for a classy packaging option for soy candles?  Try our Hexagon Glass Jars with Gold Lids, or 6oz Aluminum Tins, all on sale!
