This oil is a liquid Shea Butter extracted from the fruit of the Shea Tree, indigenous to Africa. It has been used for hundreds of years as an excellent emoillient and as an agent in skin healing and protection. It is said to help heal burns, scars, dermatitis, psoriasis, dandruff, and stretch marks. It may also help
diminish wrinkles by moisturizing the skin, promoting cell renewal, and increasing circulation. Shea Oil also contains cinnamic acid, a substance that helps protect the skin from UV rays, and environmental and free radical dammage. It contains Vitamin A and E, and has both anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. This easy-to-formulate Shea Oil has a melting point of 15 degrees C and is ideal for creams and lotions that require a light feel, and for use as a viscosity adjuster for body butters. At Voyageur, we are all extremely excited about the launch of our new website! It has been a work in progress for quite a few months and we will be continuing to add new features to it in the months ahead. On behalf of Voyageur I want to thank all of our customers who have given us their feedback, suggestions and requests over the past few years. We have tried to listen and make this an online shopping experience that will be a leader in our industry. Despite the hard work, there is still much to do, and we look at our site as a work in progress, and new recipes, information, and pictures will be added in the days, weeks and months ahead. Bountiful Benefits
As we make the transition to the new website, we would like to highlight a few of the benefits of the new platform.
One of the areas we really wanted to improve was the search function. With this site our search function zeros in on exactly what you need, making it that much easier to find the product you are looking for.
Another feature that was on many customers wish list was a easy to navigate index. Our Product Index at the bottom of the home page has a full A-Z list of everything we offer, so you can browse around without searching through catergories.
Probably the biggest request was for a site where you could stop shopping and your cart would be saved for when you return. This new site has it.
For me, one of the most exciting aspects of this new site is the ability for us to easily share our information and knowlege with our customers Our horizontal navigational menu at the top of the page is where you can find our natural soap bars and bases, cosmetic bases, and most importantly updated information about mineral makeup, soapmaking techniques, aromatherapy, candlemaking, and a treasure trove of recipes. It will take time to fully develop this resource, but over the next year we want to make voyageursoapandcandle.com the premier destination and resource for information and recipes for making natural soap, bath and body care products and cosmetics. |

Our Biggest Sale Ever!
As customers enter the site and shop for the first time, they will have to register their information again and create a new profile. For this inconvenience we are offering an additional 10% Discount on top of our 5% Customer Loyalty Discount, creating a 15% Discount off every order placed online! This includes all bulk items and because it is applicable to everything we sell, is by far our largest sale ever.
However, this sale is only applicable to orders placed online; if you come into our store front you will not get the discount as it is to encourage the use of the site, but if you order online and choose the "Pick up In-Store" option, you will receive the discount!
This mega-sale, which ends on Monday September 6th, is the warm-up to our Customer Appreciation Sale, which will start on Thursday, September 9th. A yearly tradition, The Customer Appreciation Sale will encompass a large range of our products, and it is available to anyone in-store or online. This is a special event, our way of saying thanks, to you our customers, so if possible we encourage you to come down to our shop between September 9th and 20th for special in store offers, and give-aways. On September 18th we will be having lots of tasty treats, recipe handouts and prizes for the young and young at heart.
As we are running 2 sales back to back it might be a good idea to place two separate orders. Take advantage of both. During the customer appreciation sale, we generally focus on specific areas, like soap oils, non-bulk essential oils, non-bulk fragrance oils, select packaging and ingredients etc.... So if you buy bulk, if you buy lots of packaging, then 15% off is a deal you don't want to miss.
It is hard to beat 15% off everything, and with this new site you will see the discounted savings as you shop. As with the previous site, we cannot pre-calculate freight, but those that have shopped with us before know our freight rates are hard to beat, but if you would like a freight quote before your order is processed then please just mention it in the comments section.

Our line-up of Shea products has changed drastically over the past month, we'd like to take the time to outline the products we now carry:
Our African Fair Trade Unrefined Shea Butter has been replaced by the Certified Organic Unrefined Shea Butter at the same cost.
We also have a new shea product, our Shea Oil that you can read about in the featured article on the left-hand side.

Thanks again to all of our customers for their support, suggestions and patience as we got this new site up and operational. It was a monumental task and I want to thank all our staff for the long hours and creative energy they put into getting it ready for the Fall season.
