Summer is a time of relaxation and reflection. We must enjoy every moment as it comes and take pleasure in all accomplishments. However, we can't forget that summer is half over! HIDDEN SALE! We are pleased to present to you, our loyal customers, a hidden sale on all Essential Oil Blends! A hidden special is not listed on the web store with the sale price, instead we give you the discount when we process your order and invoice it. There will be no advertising or signage, but you will receive a 20% discount on all sizes up to 250ml. What a deal!
We would also like to anounce that we will be closed on Saturday, July 31st to Monday August 2nd for the BC Day Holiday, re-opening on Tuesday August 3rd. Operation Santa Clause a Success!
5000 bars of soap donated to our troops.
 We are thrilled to announce that we achieved our 5000 bar goal! Because this is such a worthwhile cause, Voyageur has opted to make it one of our Corporate donations for this year. To achieve our original goal of supplying a bar of soap to every Canadian soldier stationed oversees, Voyageur is contributing 4300 of our All-Purpose Shampoo Bars. However, this was an endeavour with many contributors, and we wish to acknowledge once again all the help we have received from generous companies and individual soap makers. We have had donations from Ucluelet to Calgary, from Brooklyn, NY to Lakeside Arizona, and even from Australia! Herbal Salve Recipe
We found this recipe for a Herbal Salve in our old class files. It's a fantastic moisturizer and a great way to encorporate some of the body care ingredients that are on sale right now! Beeswax 20% 136 grams Grapeseed Oil 60% 45 grams Castor Oil 10% 23 grams Calendula Oil 3% 7 grams Comfrey Oil 3% 7 gram Carrot Tissue Oil 2% 4 grams Rose Hip Oil 1.5% 3 grams Vitamin E Anti-Oxidant 0.5% 2 grams Measure out the beeswax and oils (leaving out the Vitamin E) in a small pot, heat slowly on med-low heat until no solids remain. When fully melted, stir well and turn off heat. Once cooled, add the Vitamin E and any essential oils if desired. Stir and pour into our Amber Glass Jars that just happen to be on sale (see below)! Keep in mind that when making a salve it is very easy to customize the ingredients to better suit your needs. The body care oils are interchangeable, for example you could swap the Grapeseed oil for Coconut oil, depending on what you have on hand and your personal preference. You could also take away some Beeswax and add an equal amount Shea butter to make a softer salve, if you are looking for something more moisturizing. And don't forget to utilize herbs and essential oils in your recipe. Infuse your favorite herb in the oil, and add some essential oil at the end to create a product geared for dry skin, or other ailments. We hope you experiment and create your perfect product! |
