Greetings!
Happy Tuesday! The kids are back in school, it's starting to get a cooler at night, and I've even seen a few leaves start to fall. Speaking of fall...we are continuing on with the fall season expo and trade show tips. This week is the second part of a three-part series on how to have a successful expo or show. The first part was preparation. The second part is what to do while at the expo to ensure it is a success. Next week will be successful follow-up practices. (If you missed last week's preparation tips, click here to read them.) |
Best in Show! Successful Expo Practices
|
So you're having a booth at an expo or
trade show. Good decision. They are an excellent source of leads with prospects
that you can qualify on the spot and follow up with like a champion. Last week
we looked at the first step which is thorough preparation to ensure you start
off on the right foot. (If you missed the 11 preparation steps, click here to
read them.)
Next, you need to have a game plan for
success while you are at the show, so that is what we will look at this week.
It's not enough to just show up at your booth and expect people to start
flooding in. A conscious effort to follow the preparation details, along with
the four key factors below, will help your booth experience a profitable return
on your investment.

Helping YOU! Quick Hits to Help You Out

XYZ Company, please hold........(silence)........
(more silence).........
(more silence).........
Has this ever happened to you? It feels very abprupt and cold doesn't it? I'd even go so far as to say it's down right rude. Unfortunately, that is the manner in which many businesses handle incoming calls when they are on the other line or in the middle of working with a customer.
Do you want to blow the minds of the people that call your business when you are on the other line or helping a customer? Try this instead...
Answer the phone and say "Hello! Thanks for calling ABC Company, my name is Heather. May I have your name please?" This question will have the caller give you their name or even a reply something like "Hi Heather, my name is Scott. How are you today?"
In response, say something like "Scott, I am doing great and am wrapping up with a customer. Would you mind holding for a minute or could I give you a call right back?"
Can you see how much better the caller would feel about you and your company? I'll bet they even tell a handful of people about it. In doing so, they turn your outstanding customer service into some great word-of-mouth advertising.
Now, go get 'em!
