Time to Organize

Middle District continues to make progress, at a snail's pace, toward building our own Ministry House, which most of you know is very similar to Habitat for Humanity.  The land has been secured in rural, southwest Powhatan and applications for permits will resume with the county next week.  Final approval to begin construction is hoped for in late spring / early summer.

This timetable requires us to move forward in organizing the next stages of this ministry.  Already the Missions and Ministry Team have heard from a task force that suggested we begin now to organize so there will be adequate time to coordinate all the behind-the-scenes efforts regarding the potential family and the preparation for construction.

We are now searching for volunteers to help with the following areas:

Family Selection Process

Individuals will work with potential families and will disseminate and process the application forms  that will assist the Missions and Ministry Team in making the final selection of the family.

Communications

Using as many means as is possible, communicate with pastors, staff, church leaders and other church members regarding all aspects and status of selecting the family and building the home.

Construction

Work with the General Contractor to construct the home.

Financial

Assist the potential family in applying for a loan.  Other persons are needed in regard to the finances concerning the preparation and actual construction of the house.

If you know of people who might be interested in helping with this ministry, please have them give me a call, 276-8481 or contact Steve Vaughan, Missions & Ministry Team chairman. Sooner rather than later would be much appreciated.

Caleb Hamacher Update

Nancy and I want to thank you who daily contact us and pray for our grandson Caleb.  He is out of a one-month medically induced coma, home, and playing and fishing.  He is healing daily!  He now looks as though he has a light sunburn and will ultimately have no signs of being severely burned on 31% of his body. Your prayers and love have sustained him and us during this time.  God is so good.  And you are too.  Thanks. - Jim

REFUEL CONFERENCE

May 17-18, 2011

Leaders include Steven Furtick,

John Maxwell, Ed Stetzer,

Charles Billingsley and more!

"You have filled Jerusalem with your teaching"  Acts 2:43

We'd all love to see our towns filled with the gospel, with the ministry of our church.

But do we remember Acts 2:2-4? Before they filled their town - THEY had to be filled. The Spirit filled the upper room, then He filled the church leaders, and THEN the town was filled.

    Filled leaders = filled town.

REFUEL Conference is a chance for us to gather again, as the leaders of the church, to be filled up by God, so we can in turn fill our Jerusalems.  Empty? Come REFUEL!
