Great News!
The Homecor Board has decided to extend the deadline for the Energy Efficiency Grants to December 31, 2011.
For 15 years, Homecor has been assisting homeowners in the Central City of Holland as they seek to maintain and improve their homes. This Fall, Homecor will continue their mission of enhancing Central City neighborhoods by offering new matching mini-grants to homeowners who wish to make enhancements to their home that will increase the energy efficiency of their home for lower utility bills, decreased energy usage, and a more comfortable home.
Your energy improvement solution begins with an audit of your home to determine the best solutions for your home. Therefore, Homecor will pay $200 toward the $300 cost of an energy assessment by the local company, Dwelltech Solutions (www.dwelltechsolutions.com). We will also offer eligible homeowners in our target area matching grant assistance up to $1,000 for energy efficiency improvements. This is a 1:1 grant where every $1 grant provided by Homecor requires a $1 cash or labor contribution from the homeowner.
Eligibility:
- The home must be in our target area of 8th to 19th Street, from Lincoln Avenue to Harrison Avenue.
- The homeowner must perform an energy audit to determine the solutions with the greatest impact. The energy audit also identifies rebates and other incentives offered by utility companies and other entities
- The home must be owner occupied.
- All property taxes must be current.
- Applications must be received by December 31, 2011 for consideration by the Homecor Board
- Work must be completed by February 15, 2012
Applicable Enhancements will be identified in the energy assessment provided by Dwelltech Solutions and include such items as insulation, air sealing, window restoration or replacement, furnace and water heater upgrades.
Homecor is a 501c-3 non-profit organization that is supported solely by private contributions. We are providing up to 20 assessments and up to $10,000 in matching grants ($1,000 max per house) for this Energy Efficiency Grant program and will select projects to reward grants based on the applicants stated financial need, the potential for positive impact on the home and the homeowner's willingness to contribute to the project.
