A notice to all Grieder Lawn Care Customers
The soil's are starting to warm finally. Sodded lawns are just coming out of their winter dormancy. As of today the soil temperature is 58 degrees. Last week it was 44 degrees. Crabgrass will begin to germinate when temperatures are 55 to 65 degrees but will be killed if we get another frost. Daren has begun the first round of spring fertilizer and expects to finish sometime around May 9th (weather permitting). For those of you who get preemergent, it works as a preemergent and post emergent for crabgrass. Winter was really hard on some lawns, especially those in the shade. We will do our best to get your lawn back into a healthy condition. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Cathy at 662-8527 or cwb@grieders.com
Grieder uses environmentally friendly Kid Conscious Lawn Care fertilizers to help rebuild healthy soil and grow lush lawns that are safer for kids and pets.
If you are not yet a Grieder lawn care client there is still time to have a great looking, environmentally friendly lawn. Call Cathy today at 309-662-8527

Keeping it Green |
Looking for a reason to stay out after dark? How about adding the Element of Fire? For many landscapes and patios, once the sun begins to set and the evening begins to get cool, there is little incentive to stay outside. Do you want to stay outside and enjoy the sounds of the evening and the sight of the stars above? One growing trend in outdoor living is to add the element of fire to your landscape. Fire creates warmth, a focal point, and a gathering place which can extend the usable time of your patio not only into the evening, but further into the fall. The element of fire can be added to your patio in multiple ways, from using simple tiki torches and candles, to adding a fire pit or an entire fireplace. Fire pits and fireplaces are available in both wood-burning and gas burning arrangements and can easily be integrated into most new or existing landscapes. What could be better than a nice evening visiting on the patio and staying outside to hear the crackle of a fire or maybe even roast some marshmallows? For more information about adding fire, or other design elements to your landscape, please visit our website at www.grieders.com
To speak with a designer about installation of fire pits, fireplaces and other elements of outdoor living, please call (309) 662-8527 or email us at grieders@grieders.com
