In collaboration with the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, FLJS last month published two workshop reports examining different aspects of the interplay between law and society.
The Foundations of Law: Legalism in the Ancient World, Europe, & Asia emerges from the Oxford Legalism Project, and takes a comparative approach to consider how society chooses and structures the particular form of law it adopts.   Lawyers: Socio-Legal Perspectives examines how lawyers implement, administer, and monitor laws in an increasingly legalistic world.            Professor Chris Hodges, Head of the CMS Research Programme on Civil Justice Systems at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, presented the findings of his research project on ADR across the EU at the conference held in Oxford on 28 October.
The research assesses the existing dispute resolution models used across Europe, and makes recommendations that helped inform the emerging policy across the EU
