Brothers and Sisters...
In the last edition of LifeLines, I shared with you many of the ways our building has been used to do the ministry of the Gospel in this place. We have been given a marvelous space to use and care for.. .to the glory of God!
Seeking to be faithful stewards of what we have, I am excited to share with you some recent improvements to our building and prepare you for that which is soon to come in the remaining few months of our 25th Anniversary Year. Let us be thankful for...
(1) New energy efficient doors in the Faith Development Center breezeway
(2) Handicap accessible door opener in the same FDC
(3) Tinting of windows in the narthex and sanctuary
(4) Repaired sprinkler system for the church's lawn
Let us look forward to...
(1) Newly painted walls in the Fellowship Hall and hallways ...and beyond
(2) Expandable and collapsible wall within the large classroom nearest Medford Lakes / Tabernacle Road in the FDC
(3) More efficient and brighter projection in the sanctuary
(4) A reliable phone system and communication network
(5) Informational sign on Medford Lakes / Tabernacle Road with double-sided LED messaging
Lord of Life Lutheran Church is a community of faith blessed with a structure and grounds that helps make ministry unfold in this location....and beyond. Please be prayerful for all those members and friends who find their way onto our property and into our building that they will see that we care for what we have. And may that message declare our gratitude to the Lord; who made it all happen in the first place!
Your Brother in CHRIST,
- Pastor David Jones

Although the congregation voted on installing solar electric panels years ago, we were unable (for various reasons) to get the task completed. Following the recent 'solar day' at our church with GreenFaith, we have been exploring a financial opportunity that has recently opened up to get this project re-started. The church council is now studying the proposal, and we anticipate a meeting for the congregation in the near future to review the proposal and opportunity as it is developed. Please feel free to contact Bill Dreisbach or Bill Reich if you have any questions.

THANK YOU for Successful Vacation Bible School!
|
Thank you to EVERYONE who helped make ReNew VBS 2012 a huge success!
- 93 kids came through the doors last week ages 2 1/2 through 5th grade.
- 15 adults attended the Pastors' accompanying Bible Study.
- 37 youth helpers worked VERY hard to keep the momentum going, kept the kids safe and happy, and seemed to have a lot of fun too! Their willingness to serve this ministry speaks volumes of their character and their help is priceless.
A big thank you to the 27 families who donated items for our VBS dinners. It really made the kitchen crew's job so much easier. And to Al and Maria Schulties for their generous plant and soil donations, as well as lending us some really cool props from their farm!
We'd especially like to thank all of our adult volunteers, who, without their time, talents, sweat and passion, none of this would have been possible.

We are asking if anyone has anything they can donate to help this women out it would be greatly appreciated. She basically needs everything, furniture, towels, toaster, etc. She does have a microwave, bureau, chest of drawers, night stands, coffee table, and possibly a couch.

PEP Homemade Ice Cream Social, Tue, Aug 14, Noon
In the good old summertime, what better way to spend an afternoon than enjoying time together and making some good old fashioned hand cranked ice cream! We'll start the cranking as we enjoy a light lunch and then bring out the sprinkles, hot fudge, and whipped cream to top off our scrumptious dessert! Join us and ask a friend as well! The Sound of Music, Tue, Aug 21, Surflight Theatre, Beach Haven
We're heading off to LBI for another musical treat! And what a great one it is! Lunch will be at The Spray Beach Inn followed by this special show. Departure time is 10:15 from Leisuretowne and the church.
Helping Hands, Mon, Aug 27, 12:30 It's sandwich time! Help us share our gifts with the people served by the Christian Caring Center in Browns Mills. You can help by making a monetary donation-put it in an envelope marked Helping Hands and place in Sue Dreisbach's box in the office; by donating meat or cheese; by joining the effervescent sandwich making group on the 27th; or any combination of the above! All hands are welcome!
Dinner at the Diner-Wed, Aug 29, LB Daniels, Medford, 4:30 We're trying a new venue for our early bird special. Come and join us for good food, fellowship, and devotions!

Cleaning closets? Lutheran Care will take your knick-knacks and DVD movies. DVD movies are shown to the residents in the Home's in-house movie theater. The knick-knacks will find their way into the Holiday Shop where residents pick holiday gifts for family members at no charge. Thank you for thinking of them.

2012 Fuller Center 'Legacy Build' in Georgia
|
Yes the fearless group is heading south this year to once again work on a project under the direction of none other then Neil Brown! As usual the powers to be have saved the most challenging project for the group from NJ. So let us know if your interested or have questions. Or if your ready for an always interesting adventure log on to FullerCenter.org and register! Make sure you use NJ Pines for the group and Neil Brown as house captain and yes check volunteer housing ( I've been told it's great this year). It's a wonderful week and this year will be a little more focused on us since there are just 4 projects in the US and 10 in Peru the week before.

August a hot and dry month! The summer is a great time for vacations and trips, but please remember the church has continuing expenses throughout the year. A good way to support your church during these 'lean months' is using the free 'Simply Giving' program. Click for more info! And thanks! <
Stewardship Stories - We need your stories! How has giving affected you or people you know? Please contact Bill Dreisbach if you can share a story (or two!), or would like to help with our fall emphasis. Please share your story and/or volunteer with email to lordlife.news@gmail.com

Johnny's Mother looked out the window and noticed him "playing church" with their cat. He had the cat sitting quietly and he was preaching to it. She smiled and went about her work. A while later she heard loud meowing and hissing and ran back to the open window to see Johnny baptizing the cat in a tub of water. She called out, "Johnny, stop that! The cat is afraid of water!" Johnny looked up at her and said, "He should have thought about that before he joined my church."
