From the desk of Pastor Sue I had the pleasure this last Wednesday of taking part in the Adult Bible study for the first time since beginning my life with all of you as your second pastor and one of the verses from the passage in Luke that we were discussing really stood out for me. It was Luke 1:37 "for nothing will be impossible with God." These words were spoken by the angel Gabriel when he appeared to Mary bringing word that God had chosen her to be the mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus.
Those words really hit home for me this week as I not only began my ministry with all of you but as I celebrated my 50th birthday. For Mary, Gabriel's pronouncement brought both apprehension and anticipation and this new beginning at this time in my life feels very much the same. When I was Mary's age I could never have imagined what this year, this milestone birthday would bring. And I have to admit that there have been times along this journey toward becoming a pastor that I wasn't sure exactly where the path would lead. Yet here I am!
What a marvelous birthday gift I have been given in all of you... What an amazing gift we all have with and for each other and others in the community that is Lord of Life... and what an opportunity we have this Advent season to remember and celebrate with joy and wonder what the gift of the baby Jesus brings to each one of us and to the world. My prayer for all of you as Advent draws to a close this week is that you can truly know in your heart and soul, just as Mary did, that "nothing will be impossible with God".
- Pastor Sue Jones

Caroling Dec 12th! Cold and rain did not deter the spirits of 50 people who came out to spread the Christmas joy around our community. We caroled at five homes in Leisuretowne where 30 people welcomed us. Ten homes in Allenwood were regaled while many more heard the carolers as they traveled through the park. Everyone was very delighted and thankful. Each home received a book: "The Twelve Days of Christmas". We who sang felt very blessed! - Priscilla Faucett - - - - - - - - - -

Nothing Between Us and God
Ever notice how the 10 Commandments begin with "You shall have no other gods before me"(Ex. 20:3) and ends with "You shall not covet..." (Ex. 20:17a).
Nothing must come between us and God. Is there something that you treasure too much? Is there something that you love more than God - that means more to you than God? Is there something that gets in the way of being fully devoted to Him? Abraham was ready to give up his only son - totally trusting that God would provide.
