 Lord of Life Lutheran Church
All Saints Day
Since the early centuries of the church the liturgical calendar has reserved one day to honor, collectively, all the saints; both those officially recognized and those known only to God.  This service remembers all those who have died in faith or been baptized during the past year.

Stewardship Strengthens Your Faith and Church
Like the ancient people of God in the Old Testament we bring into our congregation the "first fruits" of our labor. As they brought grain and animals, today we bring money to offer, and we make our offering in the middle of the worship service. While it is important to know what our dollars do, it is more important to first think about where those dollars come from, about how and why those dollars have been offered.

Our offering is an act of worship. In our worship we seek to love and honor God. We express that devotion by sacrificing and sharing something of value.

Our offering is an act of liberation. We know the temptation to allow money to rule our life and shape our values. In the face of that temptation, we break the hold of money and release it freely and with joy. In our offering we demonstrate that we are liberated to serve God and not money.

Our offering is an act of community. This is about ministry that is beyond me. This is about ministry that is shared with all the people of God. My offering is released into the care of the wider congregation, the Synod, and the whole Church. My offering becomes part of our ministry and extends into the community.

Our offering is an imitation of Christ. We are generous because Christ was generous, in His work and in His sacrifice. We want to be a follower of Jesus. We share our generous offering in memory and in imitation of the generous offering that Christ is for the world.

As you read this, your Estimate of Sharing Cards are being delivered to your home in a "saddlebag" by a Route Rider (a fellow church member who lives near you).   After you prayerfully consider your 2011 estimate of sharing (which can be changed at any time) please put it into the saddle bag and speed it on to the next home!

(Note that some members will receive their packets by US Mail. Those special packets should arrive at your home around Wednesday, November 10.)

where your heart is
CHRISTIAN CARING CENTER THANKS YOU!

Thank you for your generosity to the Christian Caring Center this month.  We donated many bags of clothes including the much needed winter coats.  Please remember they do not accept books.  Also there was a wonderful response to donating pasta and sauce.  Again thank you for your generosity, for as we know the food pantries have had a significant increase in need this year.

Thank You for Home Restoration!

We received a wonderful thank you letter (captured  in the November Photos on our website) thanking our church and the Fuller Center for the restoration of the home of Brian and Karen Park.  Thanks to everyone who was associated with this project!  Link to our Web Page Here

Thank You from Bridge of Peace!

We received a wonderful poster from Bridge of Peace - 32 people used our "Studio Go" materials for their Vacation Bible School in August.  Our partnership with that church includes retreats, confirmation and other activities.  Thank You to everyone at Lord of Life who contributed to this program!  A photo of the poster and VBS class is available from the Nov photos page. (link above)

November is "Soup" month and Thanksgiving Bags!

This month we will be featuring SOUP - preferably with pop top cans.  Other food items will also be well received.     May you know your donations have been gratefully received.

Thanksgiving Dinners
Would you like to help a family in need enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner?  Beginning on Nov. 6th, we'll have Murphy's bags available with an attached list of items that would be appreciated in helping to make that happen for clients of the Christian Caring Center.  Buy a few items or fill the bag!  All donations will be greatly appreciated.  We'll be collecting supplies until Nov. 21st.
Grace Place News!grace place
With Christmas just around the corner, this is your last chance to order the beautiful greenery the Grace Place Preschool is selling.
Order forms are in the Narthex and the adjoining hallway of the FDC.  Orders and payments must be complete by November 10th.  Proceeds of the sale go to the upkeep of the playground.

Fuller Center - THREE GIFTS IN ONE!

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40

Looking for that special gift for that person who has everything?  Let the Fuller Center help you out!

Your donation to the Fuller Center in the New Jersey Pines will help us in our efforts to provide simple decent housing to families in need, allow you to give a gift to your loved one that embodies the true meaning of Christmas, and will leave you with the heartwarming knowledge that you have given a hand up to those in need.  It's like buying three gifts for the price of one!

For your gift of $40.00 you'll receive a Gift Card where you can record your message to the recipient displayed in a beautifully stenciled Fuller Center cloth tool belt.

For your gift of $60.00 or more you'll receive a book of your choice written by Millard Fuller on his life experiences building simple decent housing throughout the world and a Gift Card where you can record your message to the recipient displayed in a beautifully stenciled Fuller Center cloth tool belt.

For more information or to purchase this special gift contact, Neil Brown at 609-923-5632, Merle Brown at 609-923-5631 or Fran Bubeck at 609-304-6807.
