About the Special Congregational Meeting

By an overwhelming majority, the congregation has authorized Council to move forward with the calling of a second pastor and to begin the envisioning process for its future, including sanctioning a 25th anniversary mission campaign.  More information will be posted as it becomes available.  Thanks to all those who participated in the discussions leading up to and including the meeting who prayerfully considered the direction that our congregation should take in the future.

THANK YOU!

A big THANK-YOU to everyone who helped mow the church lawn this year.  Michael John, Jim Ebersberger, the Hourihans, the Humphreys, the Milleres, and the Reichs each spent a little time over the summer to keep the church yard looking good.

We also want to give a THANK-YOU to Harry Granfors and Fred Wilfrid for keeping the church mowers in top condition.  And finally to Bill Reich for coordinating this all summer!

Another big THANK YOU for the people who donated their time, talent and treasures for the Time & Talent Auction held Sat night 9/25.  Over $1300 was raised to support our Outreach Ministries.  Thanks to Joanne Thomas and Peg Gibson for coordinating this event!

Texting Anyone?  How about for a good cause?

We're trying our best to help out our close friends at the Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders make the final cut for the 50k from Pepsi. These funds are much needed since the country has all but forgotten about the people affected by Hurricane Ike!    VOTING ENDS SEP 30th

So here is what we're asking:  From your cell phone text to # 73774  with the message  102369.  This can be done every day.  Along with that, you can go to the web site

    http://www.refresheverything.com/disasterrebuilders

If you need to register you can do it on the site through Pepsi or through facebook or twitter. This gives everyone the chance to vote 2 times a day for the FCH Disaster ReBuilders!!!

Last weekend we went from 200th ranking to 117!  We have a little over a week to get this done and we need all the help we can get.

If you can forward this on to your friends, relatives (give the job to your kids and their friends they spend all day texting anyway),  even get the family dog to vote!  It will keep the best group of people involved with the Fuller Center going through these tough financial times.

Fundraising Bake Sale for Progeria

Clare Maurer will be holding a bake sale the weekend of Oct. 2-3. All proceeds will be donated to the Progeria Research Foundation. The Ponies are coming back to Lord of Life!

The Pony Express returns to Lord of Life for a second run this year. Our three week Pony Express run will begin on the weekend of Nov 6 & 7.

We are looking for helpers for these support tasks:
1) to stuff the saddle bags ( a one-time evening of adventure ! ).
2) To volunteer to be a "Trail Boss" -  each monitoring a saddle bag as it makes its way through a trail during the 3 weeks (occasional phone calls - not a lot of time commitment).  We will need 20 people to step up to this task.

If you can help, or need more information - please email PONY@lordlife.us or this newsletter.
