Sep 19 - Sun - 6pm - Special Congregational Meeting

As we look at our future call to ministry we will be discussing and making decisions in three important areas:  1) the calling of a second pastor; 2) the envisioning process for Lord of Life's future; and 3) sanctioning a 25th anniversary mission campaign. All confirmed members are encouraged to be in prayerful consideration of these matters and be sure to attend!  We will begin our evening with dessert at 5:30 followed by the meeting at 6:00.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer and got the opportunity to get away for some relaxation.  As fall approaches it is that time again for our yearly programs to start in full. Sunday school, Bible Studies, and many other opportunities to praise our Lord have begun or are about to begin. I encourage all of us to take advantage of one of these opportunities, either as a participant or as a volunteer.

As many of you are aware there is a special Congregational meeting scheduled for Sunday, September 19th. I implore as many of our members to attend as this meeting will be about the future of our church and our ministries. Lord of Life has grown at a tremendous rate through the years and we have to decide in what direction our church should head next. We need the input of each and every one of the Congregation regarding this matter.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the meeting on the 19th and throughout the upcoming program year.

Yours in Christ,
Scott Glossner
Council President

Pianist Needed
Do you love to play hymns and bring joy to the hearts of seniors?  We're looking for someone to accompany our program at Lutheran Care on the first Monday of each month.  The program is from 2:00-3:00 and includes hymn singing along with scripture and a special message.  If you or someone you know might be interested in knowing more, please talk to or call Sue Dreisbach at the church office.  We'd love to have you join us!

The Ponies are coming back to Lord of Life!
The Pony Express returns to Lord of Life for a second run this year. Our three week Pony Express run will begin on the weekend of Nov 6 & 7.

We are looking for helpers for these support tasks:
1) to stuff the saddle bags ( a one-time evening of adventure ! ).
2) To volunteer to be a "Trail Boss" -  each monitoring a saddle bag as it makes its way through a trail during the 3 weeks (occasional phone calls - not a lot of time commitment).  We will need 20 people to step up to this task.

If you can help, or need more information - please email PONY@lordlife.us or this newsletter.

Holy Humor
Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the devil. One said to the other, 'What do you think about all this Satan stuff?'
The other boy replied, 'Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out. It's probably just your Dad.'
