New Adult Bible Study!
Get ready! Locate your Bible or we'll provide one for you...Get set! Call your friends and invite them to join you, and...Go! to our Adult Bible Study starting on Wednesday, September 8th at 10:00! "Parables from the Back Side-Bible Stories with a Twist" promises to get us off to a great start in this new program year! We'll take a look at 12 of Jesus' parables but from a different point of view than we're used to. How did the victim feel about being helped by a Samaritan? What was the father thinking about in the story of the Prodigal Son? Whether you've been a part of the study for years or have never joined in, we would love to have you!

N O T I C E- A very special congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, September 19th. As we look at our future call to ministry we will be discussing and making decisions in three important areas: 1) the
calling of a second pastor; 2) the envisioning process for Lord of
Life's future; and 3) sanctioning a 25th anniversary mission campaign. All confirmed members are encouraged to be in prayerful consideration of
these matters and be sure to attend! We will begin our evening with dessert at 5:30 followed by the meeting at 6:00.

To Lord of Life Lutheran Church:
Dear Pastor Jones, Rainbow of Hope Inc. extends its thanks to you and your congregation for the support you gave us by supplying a Tee Sign at our recent Annual Golf Classic held on June 29, 2010 at Indian Spring Golf Course. This annual golf outing is our largest fundraiser of the year and it's important that the event be successful. This year after receiving matching funds from three Thrivent chapters we netted just over $12,000. It is vital to the welfare of the homeless women with children in our program that we continue the assistance and mentoring provided to them. Helping these women off different public assistance programs and enabling them to establish a more self-sufficient life for themselves and their families is an asset to the entire community.
Thanks again and God bless you, Virginia K Fink / Board of Directors / Rainbow of Hope, Inc.

"The Gift"
If I see the gift as mine alone to give, If I see the gift as God's I might give hesitantly, who allows me to use it for a time, even grudgingly, considering my options, then the gift can flow more freely, then giving from a sense of ought. as I join with others to be a channel for God's love and mercy. -Unknown |

Holy Humor
At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings.. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs. Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he was ill, and she said, 'Johnny, what is the matter?' Little Johnny responded, 'I have pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife.'
