SonQuest 2010 VBS
THIS WEEK GET READY FOR A REAL BLAST!!
Vacation Bible School

Ever wonder what a rain-forest looks like?  Well, Lord of Life has turned into one. That's right, it's VBS time!!

From Monday, Aug 2nd thru Friday, Aug 6th Lord of Life will be swinging to the songs of the jungle, the telling of parables, and lots of crafts and fellowship.  There is something for every age to do.  A "free will" dinner will be served each night from 5:30pm to 6:00pm.  The morning session, age 3 thru Kindergarten begins at 9:30 am until noon.

The evening session, grades 1st thru 5th begin at 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm.  There are also adult sessions, Monday thru Thursday from 6:45 until 8:00 pm.  If you don't find anything there, just come on out and help!  If you have not previously registered, we'll fit you in.

Afterward we will also be taking VBS on the road.  Monday, Aug 9th at 12:45pm, we will be going to Lutheran Care in Moorestown to spread the love of Jesus with our VBS program.  Anyone is welcome to come.  Signups will be in the Narthex so we can carpool.
Bible stories, music, drama, crafts, games, snacks, and lots of FUN learning God's Word!

Thank You!  - Greetings All - I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you for a wonderful send-off last weekend. I very much enjoyed being able to Vicar Sue Jonesspend a little extra time with many of you after the services, and of course partake of the marvelous goodies that a number of you provided... I have had an amazing twelve months with all of you in fellowship, worship, service, and learning. The "Give Thanks" banner and the "Unity" sculpture I received during the worship services are already occupying prominent places in my home and will serve as special reminders of our time together. May God's grace and peace be with you always! -  Blessings,  Ex-Vicar Sue

A Vision of Vibrant Stewardship in the Congregation
Imagine a congregation that knows the difference between a "Theology of Abundance" and "The Myth of Scarcity."  Oh, the things they would do!  The joy they would have in giving themselves - their time, their talents and their treasures - away for the sake of the world!  This would be a congregation that dared to dream and imagine a future that seems impossible by human standards.
First, this would be a people who kept the Sabbath as God intended.  This would be a day of vibrant worship, a day of ascribing value and worth to God, a day free from laboring for "daily bread."  Believing that God always provides enough would give them cause for great thanksgiving.
Second, out of all the activities that are part and parcel of being the church, one of the characteristics of this congregation would be taking the message of God's "enoughness" - enough grace, enough forgiveness, enough hope, enough provision, enough love, enough safety,k enough compassion, enough comfort, enough friendship - to others.  Sometimes the message would be shared with words, other times it would take the form of a warm blanket, and sometimes it would be the presence of a listening ear.  Sharing the abundance of God's "enoughness" would be part of their DNA.
Finally, this would be a congreagation that was wise about the blessings of financial wealth.  Talking about money and how it is used in the church and in the private lives of disciples would be as normal, necessary and expected as talking about prayer or baptism.  It would not be the first thing on the council agenda because money would be seen as a tool to help them do God's mission.  God's mission is to love and bless and save the world.  Money is one of the many resources needed to help God do this.  They would be careful, diligent and resourceful stewards so that the greatest amount possible of this blessing could be put to use for God's mission.
