"Blessed to Be a Blessing" at Lord of Life!
Lord of Life has
been holding worship services on Saturday nights for close to 15 years. In that time span, hundreds of people have
been able to be drawn closer to God and one another through a variety of
liturgies (like this Saturday's Taize service of chant, meditation, prayer and
reflection) and have been blessed by the gifts of members and friends of LOL
(like the musical witness of the Gospel Choir of Prince of Peace LC in Marlton
two Saturdays ago).
Saturday night
worship is still a relatively new phenomenom among Lutheran Christians,
although 4 other ELCA congregations in Burlington County (Saint Paul's in
Hainesport, Prince of Peace in Marlton, Bethany in Palmyra and Zion in
Riverside) also hold services of worship on the eve of the sabbath. As we gather around word, witness and meal,
on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings, we celebrate the richness of worship in
faithful and gracious ways. And because
we are free to give God the praise and thanksgiving that the Lord so richly
deserves, worship on the weekend becomes the perfect, opportunity to express the
abundant life we have in Jesus Christ by inviting friends and neighbors to join
us. And when we do,we are once again
reminded that we are "blessed to be a blessing!"

Thank You!
To everyone who made our September Picnic a success!
To all those who are working "behind the scenes" to make the ministries and mission of our Church meaningful and effective.
Thanks to Jan Fierick for her service to our church in the Counseling and Care Partners Ministries and the hard work she put in to launch the Lord of Life "Common Grounds" Coffee House.
To all of our faithful servants who join us at Lutheran Care the first Monday of each month.

Skirts for Haiti
Penny Miller is coordinating making skirts for women of Haiti and looking for help sewing or donations of 2.5 yards of washable fabric. Also interested in anyone who sells material wholesale. Haitian women never get anything new so this gift will not only help them materially but spiritually also. Please help Penny with this wonderful effort to help the Christian women of Haiti! |
Volunteers for dinners needed
- looking
for volunteers to help make dinners for our weekly SHYM gatherings, starting
Sept. 30... this will help defray 'out of pocket' costs and is a fantastic way
for people to get involved with our ministry!
Also, we will
have our first Midweek Dinner and Discussion on Sept. 30 from 6pm-8pm. For more info, contact - Leslie Schmauder.

ACME Receipts Please remember those Acme receipts - the monies raised are used for our social ministry projects. Just circle the total and drop them in the entryway bucket. We were able to make 230 sandwiches for the Christian Caring Center partially from the monies collected from these receipts this month. Thanks to all supporting this project!
