Grace Place has only 2 openings left for the am 2 1/2 year old class. A
3-4 year old class is now being offered Tues, Thurs, Fri. afternoons. If you know

Our Council approved creation of the 'Lord of Life Mission Endowment Fund'. More
info will be available this year, and we need help to form a team to work details. If you have gifts of finance, sales, marketing or

VBS Thank you!!!
It takes very
many hands to put on a Vacation Bible School in the morning and
evening, plus serve a delicious dinner besides. To everyone that had
a "hand" in on it please let me say "thank-you from the bottom
of my heart". We taught 82 children and had
a slew of teen
helpers, adults and seniors to lead them. Our team even weathered a
tornado to put on VBS! Now it is back to
evaluating this past VBS and starting to plan for next year.

Skirts for Haiti Penny Miller is co-ordinating making skirts for women of Haiti - looking for help sewing or donations of 2.5 yards of washable fabric. Also interested in anyone who sells material wholesale.
The Haitian women never get anything new so this gift will not only help them materially but spiritually also. Please help Penny with this wonderful effort to help the Christian women of Haiti! |
Blessed to be a Blessing!
It was an invitation to one of our member's
birthday parties; a 50th no less! It
promised that we would eat, drink and be merry as we celebrated...and boy did
we! The party for Ed Hourihan had a
Hawaiian theme and his wife Lu did a marvelous job creating the perfect festive
occasion. In addition, this faithful
couple let it be known that gifts for Ed were to take a faithful form. The invite simply stated, "In luau gifts
please bring pull-top canned goods or peanut butter for those less fortunate - thanks!" As we entered the birthday boy's house, bags
of non-perishable food items created a small mound which found their way the
following day into the "loaves and fishes' cart in the entry way at LOL and
then on to the Christian Caring Center in Browns Mills. As Ed blew out the candles on his birthday
cake, surrounded by family, co workers and church friends, we were once again
reminded that God has "blessed us to be a blessing!" --- Pastor David Jones

PEP Picnic Lunch & Tour of Smithville Park: Wednesday, August 12 at 12PM - Bring a bag lunch and then tour the Mansion and streetscape-$4. More info and sign-up on board or see Sue Dreisbach for more information.
Saturday Morning Servants: August 15 at 8am - Come on over to enjoy some fellowship and work around LOL to keep your church in top shape! We are gathering to spruce up the church grounds and repair things needin' fixin' - Come when you can and leave when you must!
Helping Hands: Monday August 24 at 1pm. Open to all - making sandwiches for clients of Christian Caring Center - donations of lunch meat and cheese are needed (or monetary donations!). Please see Sue Dreisbach for more information.
American Red Cross Blood Drive: Thursday August 27 - noon to 6pm - The drive will be held at Lutheran Care in Moorestown - please give if you can as the summer months are always 'lean' for donors. ( sorry, we have a 1 pint limit ! )
Senior & Junior High Mission Trip Reunion Gathering: Friday Aug 28 at 6:30pm - We'll be gathering at the home of Ed & Lu Hourihan and enjoying a BBQ and the lake. Please see Donna Yates for more info.

Announcements & Time/Talent/Treasure Opportunities
Mutual Ministry - The mutual ministry team supports our church employees and helps to put together practices and guidance. If you have experience in personnel or human resources we'd like to consider you for our team. Please contact Pastor Jones or Chuck Bubeck if interested.
Endowment Team - We are forming a team to support the operation of our mission endowment fund. If you would like to help please contact Pastor Jones or the church office.

Rodriego, is looking for someone to help his mother with
cooking/cleaning and would be willing to offer a room in her Leisuretown home in
