 Alvaro Goveia with Fan Death at S1
S1 is all over the Radar - the June 2010 Radar for Elle Canada!
Photographer Alvaro Goveia photographs Fan Death, Vancouver's robo-pop hipsters for this feature. This was shot at S1, and while we were busy supplying lighting equipment to the shoot, we were delighted to hear the photographer say, "S1 provides better service than Milk studio in NY." Thanks Alvaro!

 Over the Rainbow with FTP Creative Imaging
A current TV series in the UK called "Over the Rainbow" has used FTP Creative Imaging for its print ads and posters (see image to the left). The show is a competition for singers; the winner will be the new Dorothy in the upcoming West End show "The Wizard of Oz" by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The competition will pick the new Toto! John Partridge (a soap star in the UK), all the dogs and leads are separate images that were comped in to a background of photography/CGI.

 New Software at S1 for Video!
With the amount of video happening on still sets now, all of our capture rigs with Mac Pro towers have been updated with the complete Adobe CS5 Production Premium CS5 suite including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Soundbooth, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, OnLocation, Encore, Bridge, Device Central, and Adobe Dynamic Link. So if you are shooting video as well on your stills shoot, our capture rigs will handle your requirements. Soon with the addition of Final Cut Pro, and a few other items, our rigs will be a great set up for video capture and editing.
All of our rental computers and capture computers now have Lightroom 3 installed!

  Vincent Lions Shoots Elle Canada
Elle Canada Radar featured two Canadian actresses in their May 2010 issue. Vincent Lions took advantage of the great space in S1 studios to shoot actress Kristin Booth and musical theatre actress Elicia MacKenzie.
Elicia MacKenzie starred as Maria in The Sound of Music and takes on an edgy character in the '80s-themed Rock of Ages. Watch behind the scenes footage of her shoot in S1: video link.
