S1 Creates Studio in Halifax for Reebok
Sidney Crosby teamed up with Reebok and Lockbox Productions NYC to shoot his new sportswear line called Sidney 360. What you might not know is that S1 provided a van, an equipment specialist, equipment, and lighting. We trucked it all over and set up a studio in Halifax for the shoot. If you have a large production, anywhere in Canada, just insert your photographer or production, and we look after the rest!

Why Certified Proofs? You insure your gear, why not ensure your colour.
Certified proofs are the only universally accepted standard for CMYK colour proofing and the final say on how your image should print on a press. They are a visual contract between the content producer, publisher, and printer. CMYK printing presses can't reproduce the colours in RGB files like standard ink-jets.
S1 'off press' proofing simulates the industry standard colour spaces and press characteristics to accurately portray your images as they will appear in print.
Are you supplying images that are being run in different media? For example, high quality print pieces, magazine ads & newspaper ads? We produce a range of certified proofs on different media: GRACoL (high quality), SWOP 3 (magazine), and SWOP 5 (newspaper) to ensure how your images will reproduce. We have four sizes from letter to poster sizes and if you have a lot of images we can gang multiple images on one certified 'scatter proof' to save you money.
Our certified proofs include a standard colour reference bar (FOGRA 3.0) printed below the image, which we measure using a spectrophotometer to ensure accuracy. The measured values and tolerances are then printed on the proof so anyone can review the colour accuracy, then each proof is reviewed and signed. Proofs also include an attached RHEM Light Indicator to show whether it's being viewed under proper colour temperature lighting conditions.

New in Rentals
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM Lens
New at S1 is the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM lens. This new II lens features a revised optical design, reduction of minimum focus distance, an increase in maximum magnification, and modified mechanical design. Recommendation: We always buy our Canon gear at Aden camera as they have it when everyone else is out of stock, and they have fair prices. Contact Freddie or Eddy at 416 977 9711 or at info@adencamera.com. Find it in rentals
Posing Stool & Table We had numerous requests for a posing table & stool, so we ordered one! The adjustable stool has height adjustment from 28" to 48" and 360° rotation. The tabletop has adjustable height, and is covered with black felt, so that different table coverings will cling to the felt and stay in position. Rent them together or separately. Custom Lens Correction Settings in Capture One v5 Better Quality Files, Less Retouching
Left: Before, Right: After. | S1 took the time to explore one of the many new features in Capture One 5 to further fine tune our lens/back combinations in rentals and image capture services.
Lens correction in Capture 5 provides improved quality with no fuss! This feature is broken down into two parts, lens cast calibration (LCC) and chromatic aberration settings (CAS). Chromatic aberration settings for Hasselblad and Zeiss lenses are already loaded in Capture One and you select your lens from a drop down menu. However, LCC profiles are custom corrections which eliminate the lens cast and light falloff created by specific lenses, and these need to be created with every individual lens and digital back combo you have. These LCC's can be saved and transferred to any computer you are using with C1v5.
S1 has done this with all of our equipment to create custom profiles for each lens-back combination and these are now available on all of our rental and capture computers! We'll also make them available for download on the resources section of our website if you plan to rent our camera and back but shoot on your computer. Another way shooting with S1 will get you the best images possible out of your shoot! (only CAS feature is available to DSLRs in C1)
