T-BONES - NH Restaurants
 
 MAY 18 - 25TH NEW HAMPSHIRE RESTAURANT WEEK 

 

NH Restaurant WeekGov. John Lynch announced that he would proclaim May 18-25 as New Hampshire Restaurant Week, further continuing the New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association's goal in highlighting the Granite State as a culinary destination. More than 100 restaurants across the state, including our own T-BONES Great American Eatery, have already committed to Restaurant Week NH; an eight-day event featuring prix fix menus at lunch and/or dinner, and 10 Celebrity Chefs will be promoting the event throughout the state. "Stay and dine" packages will also be offered by participating lodging properties throughout New Hampshire.

 

"I highly encourage the people of New Hampshire to experience all that our fine restaurants have to offer during New Hampshire Restaurant Week," Lynch said. "As Governor, I am proud of our restaurant and lodging industry. New Hampshire restaurants are known for their great food and knowledgeable staff, making for a wonderful dining experience that I hope you will experience for yourself during Restaurant Week in May, and all throughout the year."

 

Restaurant Week NH is presented by The NH Liquor and Wine Outlet and Great New Hampshire Restaurants. Supporting sponsors are Coca-Cola and Horizon Beverage. RECIPIENT OF EMINENCE AWARD

 

 Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua was the recipient of the Eminence Award for Dartmouth Hitchcock 2011 "Large Business of the Year" by the Nashua Chamber.   In addition, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua Medical Director, Dr. Sanders Burstein, was recognized as a nominee for "Business Person of the Year."

 

The Large Business of the Year Award is presented to a company¬-50 employees or more-that contributes to and supports the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, and is also active within the community, holding a commendable reputation and maintaining good rapport with their employees. Administrative Director Craig Beck accepted this award on behalf of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua. "The recognition by the Nashua Chamber is a reflection of the dedication and pride that is displayed throughout our organization, and our commitment to the health of the greater Nashua community," said Beck.

PHYSICIANS NAMED TOP DOCTORS FOR 2012
 

 

st joe A total of 32 physicians with St. Joseph Hospital ties, in 26 different specialties were named to the New Hampshire Magazine's list of Top Doctors and Leading Physicians for 2012 in its April edition.

 

New Hampshire Magazine sends a survey to every physician on the New Hampshire Board of Medicine's list of physicians licensed to practice in the state asking them who they would choose to provide for the medical needs of their friends and loved ones. The magazine received 429 surveys back and those who received the greatest number of recommendations are named 'New Hampshire's Top Doctors' in their respective specialties.

MEET NEW LIBRARY DIRECTOR - APRIL 12TH, 4PM-6:30PM

 

The Hudson Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Matthews as the new Director of the George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library effective March 26, 2012.

Charlie Matthews joins the Hudson Library after ten years with the Nashua Public Library, most recently as head of the Music, Art and Media Department, which accounts for 40% of the library's total circulation and houses one of the most comprehensive media collections in the state of New Hampshire.

 

In addition, he has been chairman of the Hunt Memorial Building Board of Trustees, secretary of the Nashua Cable Television Advisory Board (CTAB), member of the Friends of the Nashua Public Library and Friends of the Hunt Memorial Building, member of the Nashua Art Commission, member of the CTAB Education Channel Subcommittee and member of the New Hampshire Library Association.

 

Before joining the Nashua Public Library, Charlie managed four corporate library organizations and has had experience conducting primary and secondary research and providing information management services as an independent contractor.

 

He was a panelist on the topic of "Self-Service in Libraries" at the 2010 New England Library Association Annual Conference, and presented on the topic of "Attracting Customers with a Great DVD Collection," at the 2009 NH Library Association Annual Conference. He holds a Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Kentucky, and a BA in English from Fairfield University in Connecticut.  Charlie follows the former Director, Toni Weller, who retired in January 2012, as the second Director of the new Rodgers Memorial Library which was dedicated in June 2009 after the generous gift of local

entrepreneurs Phil and Al Rodgers.  He joins a tradition of Hudson Library leadership that dates back over two centuries.

REVISIT A COMMUNITY TREASURE - THE HILLS MEMORIAL LIBRARY - EVERY THIRD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH

 

The Hudson Library Board of Trustees proudly presents a series of monthly Open-House events at the Hills Memorial Library Building on Library Street in Hudson.Hills Memorial Library

 

The third Thursday of the month has been set aside to offer different events at the Hills Library.  The kick-off for these events will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2012 beginning at 6 pm. On May 17 there will be a photo exhibit and on June 21 there will be a "Meet the Non-Profits" event. The Library in conjunction with the School District and the Hudson Historical Society will be on hand to share what is offered by each group in the quaint setting of our own Hills Library Building.

 

Second Hand Prose used book sale, sponsored by the friends of the library, will be open on the lower level of the library during these events.
