ANNUAL CHARITY EVENT ANOTHER SUCCESS - RAISING $3,400!!!

The Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Holiday Auction for Charity on December 7th at King's Court & Banquet Hall, 222 Central Street in Hudson, raising $3,400.00 for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Special thanks to all those that donated and participated in the auction! During the last twelve years of holding the Annual Auction the GHCC members and local businesses have been able to raise an outstanding $42,400 for charity.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society, which is operated through the Blessed John XXIII Parish at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson, assists many local families by maintaining a food panty, assisting with rent and utility bills, and especially helping during the holidays by distributing food baskets and gifts to families in need. This year Pauline Boisvert, Director of the St. Vincent de Paul stated, "The need is overwhelming this year with many families seeking assistance for the Hudson community. This is the highest it's ever been in many, many years. The assistance this auction has brought is definitely greatly appreciated and necessary to help aid these families, it's been a very tough year for many."
More than 60 business members of the Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce along with other local businesses donated wonderful items for the silent auction. Sonny Cormier won the Jar of Money donated by Fred Ramos of Showtime Computers. The auction held many chances to win for all those in attendance but most important offered local business members an opportunity to generously support the community. The live auctions added to the festivities as bidding took place on a four-hour ride along with the Hudson Police Department, a weekend at Cape Cod donated by Matibo's Salon and a unique holiday tree decorated by origami folded money ornaments donated by Specialty Kitchens.
The evening was a success with the hard work on the many volunteers from the Chamber and approximately 100 guests that attended showing their holiday spirit and generosity by participating in the auction along with the overwhelming support of the event sponsors were Enterprise Bank as Diamond Sponsor and Barlo Signs, Financial Insurance Services Red Brick clothing and Web Action Group as Medallion Sponsors and Area News as Media Sponsor and Tsubaki Flowers & Gifts as the Floral Sponsor.
The Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce thanks all those who attended, donated, sponsored and participated in this worthwhile event, and would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season.
