There is a set time for everything that concerns you. And God determines the beat. God has a plan, and a "set time". Our God is not a God of rush but He is a God of speed. You cannot rush God when the set time has not come. And the reason He doesn't move as quickly as we would like is because it takes Him that long to get us ready for our new position. God usually has to prepare you for the changes He has in mind. However when it's time He moves speedily and things begin to happen "suddenly".

What is God's method of preparing you for what you're waiting for? First, He will start by loosening your grip on things that have the potential of taking over His place in your heart and life. Maybe it is a career, a relationship or your finances...then comes a period of 'open heart surgery'. The surgery is 'open' because God wants you to see what is in your heart. These things take time...longer for some than others. So be patient and let the work He's doing in you to be completed.

As you wait, consider the following things: The waiting period is supposed to heal your past so it cannot pollute your future. It is meant to expand your knowledge so you are better prepared. The waiting period develops your character.

Are you waiting for something from the Lord? Take a look at two places. First, your hands: Make sure you are not holding on too tight to something or someone other than God. Second, your eyes: Are your eyes open to you? Denying what God wants to show you only prolongs the wait time.
