SOW A SEED
He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
(2 Corinthians 9:6)
The secret to being bountiful in every area of life is tied to our willingness to sow seeds. We are quick to think "money" when we see read about sowing and reaping. While it certainly has a lot to do with our finances, it goes way beyond that. We can sow kindness, mercy, joy, love ...even a smile and a hug. I once heard from a preacher that you must daily sow into others what you are most in need of.
You'll never see a farmer who refuses to plant seeds, sitting around expecting a harvest. He may go to church every day, pray every hour and really be committed to God, but he's not going to get a harvest without first planting. That's because the law of sowing and reaping is built into creation. "As long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest...will never cease" (Genesis 8:22)
And there's something else a farmer won't do; he won't eat the seed he should be planting. He knows he must start with his seed, not his need, if he's to reap a harvest. Sowing the seed instead of eating it is an act of faith. He knows he has to wait for the different phases that seed must go through before the crop can be harvested.
Are you getting the message? What are you believing God for? It is that same thing you need to start sowing. You need friends, starts sowing friendship. You need love, start sowing love. You need mercy, start sowing mercy. You need finances, start sowing money. And don't sow sparingly but generously....going "over the top" in your willingness and obedience to His Word. When you live by this ageless principle, you give God something to work with and you will never be in lack. Give it a try and you will be amazed at the results! Happy sowing... and happy reaping too!
Stay above...always.
