Before all the people, I must be glorified. (Leviticus 10:3 NKJV)
God doesn't exist to make a big deal out of us; we exist to make a big deal out of Him. Some of us struggle with this idea because we've been demanding our way since infancy. We want a spouse who makes us happy, co-workers who respect and ask our opinions, weather that is perfect, a government that serves us and a God who gives us everything we want. We've made it all about us!
What if a church worship team followed that approach; each singer and musician making it about what they want. The keyboardist playing what he wants, the drummer pounding to get attention, the guitarist strumming the strings to his own tune, the singers each singing their favorite songs at the same time. Harmony? Hardly. Happiness? Not at all.
At the center of all we do, Christ must rule. (Ephesians 1:22) When our deepest desire is not the things of God or the favor of God, but God Himself, we cross a threshold. Less self-focus, more God-focus. Less about us --- more about Him. This calls for the death of ego. It's a truth we must constantly remind ourselves of. God made all things, and everything continues through Him and for Him...(I Corinthians 8:6).
Why does the earth the spin? For Him. Why do you have talents and abilities? For Him. Whose Word matters? His. Whose will must be done? His, not ours. God's to-do list consists of one item: "Reveal my glory. Make it about Me." Try to remember that!
Stay above...always.
Yours & His,
