Don't Play the Blame Game

"The woman you put...with me...gave me...the fruit, and I ate it."

(Genesis 3:12-13)

Blaming others for our shortcomings and mistakes is usually the way we avoid facing the truth about ourselves.  Blaming others is a waste of time.  Regardless of how much fault you find, it will not change you.  The only thing blame does is keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration.  You may succeed in making another feel guilty but you won't succeed in changing YOU!

The Israelites played the blame game.  They blamed God, Moses and whatever, for all their problems.  Everything that happened was always somebody else's fault.  As a result, a journey of 11 days lasted 40 years. (See Deuteronomy 1:2)

God knows all hearts and He will reward everyone according to his/her deeds.  The truth may be hard to face, but hiding it or blaming other people doesn't make it go away!  Until you are willing to admit your mistakes, you will keep having the same problems...and playing the blame game.

Winston Churchill made this very powerful statement: "The price of greatness is responsibility."  So stop playing the blame game, get honest with God and begin to correct the things in your life that are out of order.

Stay above...always.

Yours & His,
 Angela
