You cannot be a conqueror without a conquest. When you conquer a bad habit, when you refuse to allow the devil to mess with your life, when you refuse to be enslaved by fleshly desires and when you are bold enough to confront your fears, then you are on the right path to being crowned "Conqueror".
Now let's draw out some attitude principles from the scriptures below that will help us as we face the battles of life:
"When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. 2 So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. 3 And he shall say to them, 'Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; 4 for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.'
(Deuteronomy 20:1-4 NKJV)
"When you go out to battle..." "When..." not "if"! You are not exempted from battles. Rather, you have the choice of deciding whether you win or lose. The enemy is always set to engage you in a battle and except you want to settle down in defeat, you have no choice but to be ready to fight.
"When you go..." Another requirement for winning is going. The Word says, "When you go". This means that stagnation is forbidden. Only people who "go" have the hope of becoming winners. So, do not turn your back to the enemy, rather go towards him with a determination to win.
As long as all the men in Israel refused to "go", Goliath remained the winner. But when David arose, a new chapter was opened for Israel. The courage to go preceded the sling and stone that brought down Goliath.
"...do not be afraid...do not let your heart faint." You will always see your enemies...even if you close your eyes. Poverty, sickness, depression, family problems are some enemies that will want to overwhelm you. However when you keep confessing your victory and refuse to give up, you confuse and intimidate the devil.
God is with you and will fight for you. Never think for one moment that you are alone or forsaken by God. He is on your side fighting for you. He is your Father. He loves you and you are the "apple" of His eyes.
Keep these attitude principles and you are sure to become a conqueror!
