...greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
(1 John 4:4)
Whatever you are confronted with in life God says you are greater than it. Have a good evaluation of yourself and do not underestimate what is inside of you. You need to make discoveries about yourself. Are you aware of the great potentials and creative abilities in you? Are you conscious of the fact that you are a God carrier?
It is time to examine yourself, because self-examination leads to self-awareness and that brings about fulfillment. Joshua and Caleb knew who they were, what they were made of and what they could accomplish. You inspire courage in yourself by placing a correct value on yourself. "For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he" (Prov. 23:7). God will establish what you think in your heart. Knowing yourself and your abilities will boost your courage. You must see yourself the way you are in Christ, not the way you are naturally. Hear Paul in Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Paul, we understand, was a man of small stature, who would not command much respect physically. But he knew too much of his inner qualities and could make his boast in the Lord. David was a teenager when he confronted Goliath. Saul, a mighty man of war, discouraged him, but David was too sure of his worth and so was undaunted. He told Saul, "Thy servant will go." He knew what stuff he was loaded with.
If you wait for people's assessment of your abilities, you may never do anything. By reason of the Holy Spirit working in you, you can do all things; but you have to be aware of it. How do you assess yourself? Place yourself before the mirror of God's Word. Just as the physical mirror shows you your physical image, so also does the spiritual mirror (God's Word) reveals your spiritual worth and qualities. Until you rate yourself high, people will never rate you high. Men may assess you as being unable, but what matters most is what you have discovered of yourself from the Word of God.
Stay above...always. Yours & His,
Angela
