DON'T LIVE IN THE PAST

Forget the former things; do not dwell in the past (Isaiah 43:18 NIV)

Most of us have this constant battle:  our memory drags the "there and then" into the "here and now".  When this happens we find ourselves immersed in the old pain and our joy takes a nose dive...down into misery!  God says "forget the past...See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  If we live in our past, it infects our present and influences our future.  It's time to let it go:

Let go of what God has forgiven!  When you confessed that sin, God forgave you and forgot it.  If it comes up again, it's you that brought it up.  God has forgotten about it!  Don't wait to feel God's forgiveness before you accept it, but rather accept it regardless of how you feel.  All your sins were judged and paid for at Calvary.  Once confessed, you'll never again be charged with them...the Court of Heaven has ruled you "not guilty".  Make amends where possible...if your actions have hurt others, trust God to heal the hurts and let it go.

Let go of what others have done to you!  Just as thorns come with roses, hurts come with human relationships.  And few hurts go as deeply as those inflicted by friends and family.  One principle of dealing with hurts is this: Others can wound you, but no one can destroy you without your permission.  It's not what they do to you that determine your outcome, it's how you respond!  If you let go of the offenses, you take back your power, open yourself to new options, and you become stronger, wiser and more blessed.

Stay above...always.

Yours & His,
 Angela
