Jabez was tagged for failure from the day he was born. The name Jabez means "a source of misery."  Can you imagine the pain he must have felt every time his name was mentioned?  He must have struggled as he grew up knowing that all he ever brought to people was misery. However, it was a label he refused to wear and a prophecy he refused to fulfill.... and you should too!

Just because you were abused, molested and mistreated does not mean you have to be held back and live as a victim all your life. God says you are more than a conqueror! So who are you going to believe? Who are you going to quote?

Jabez refused to allow his beginnings to dictate his end. He refused to allow his family to keep him down or his predicaments to dictate how far he could go. He took his case to God and "cried out" regarding his life. Hear him: "Bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain."  And God granted his request.
