And He said to him, what's your name? And he said, "Jacob".
(Genesis 32:27)
What's your name? Who are you? What is your identity? Don't be surprised if God asks you the same question. He asked Jacob. God forced Jacob to look at his identity! He caused him to look deep within. His answer was pitiful! "I am Jacob" ...which means "Deceiver". His parents gave it to him and others called him by it, so he believed that's who he was. Child of God, don't allow others to name you. Don't buy it. Why should they name you? You belong to God and He alone has the right name for you. Let Him determine who you are and let Him set the limits of your success! You are more than your parents' opinion of you. You are more that your childhood! More than your past! More than the color of your skin! More than your education level! More than your bank account and more than your circumstance. When you are asked what your name is, tell them "my name is Israel...a prince with God". You are a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). You are an overcomer (1 John 2:13-14). You are the head and not the tail. You are above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13-14).
Stay above...always.
Yours & His,
