Nothing changed until the prodigal son came to his senses and realized he had missed it COMPLETELY. He also had to make the decision to return to his father and not remain where he was. His story ended well and yours can too!

• Decide to take control of your life before circumstances or other people do.  The solution begins with you.  If you have sinned, you must repent and turn your life around.  A new job, a new house or a new partner won't cure what's wrong if the cause lies in your own attitudes and actions.  You may have many excuses as to why things are the way they are in our life right now, but what are you willing to do to change them?  The prodigal son came to himself and decided to change something...go back home to his father and ask for forgiveness. 

• Face reality as it is. The prodigal son found that the rules he rebelled against were for his safety and happiness.  All the fun he though was out there and he had blown it. He had to acknowledge his mistakes and correct them before he could get on track.  You must do the same.  God will only intervene if you are honest with yourself and with Him, if you are open and willing to make a change.
